04/10 203/2026 "SABRE: THE MARK OF THE VELETH" C.S. Wood, Compass-Publishing UK, Love Books Tours Saga: "SABRE" Book 3 Fantasy " [...] We were sent to protect this land. The enemy are on the move. We must redeem ourselves before more innocent people are killed. [...]" Is this the dark fantasy finale of the year? ⚔️🖤 My FULL SPOILER-FREE REVIEW of "Sabre: The Mark of the Veleth" by @cswood1990 ! The grand finale of the official Bookstagram Tour with @lovebookstours is here, and I can finally share my thoughts on the epic conclusion to the Sabre trilogy! Travelling across the UK with this beautiful copy—sent directly by the author with a personal dedication—has been an incredible ride. After giving Volume One a 9/10 and Volume Two a perfect 10/10, my expectations were through the roof. Does Part 3 deliver? Absolutely, it shatters the scale! 💥 I am so incredibly happy that the author took the feedback to heart because this final volume spans 611 pages of pure, unfiltered grimdark genius. Having over 600 pages allowed C.S. Wood to expand this world beautifully, making the world-building feel more massive, detailed, and immersive than ever before. The battle scenes are masterfully executed—vivid, brutal, and perfectly choreographed. But what truly sets this book apart is the atmosphere of pure dread. The fear in this story is so visceral and tangible that it literally jumps off the pages and transfers directly onto the reader. It’s an absolutely perfect, chilling feeling that kept my heart racing the entire time! What also completely blew me away are the female characters. They are incredibly brave, fierce, and valiant warriors! These women are ruthless, powerful, and ready to fight for their survival. What happened to Heidi... it hurt me deeply just reading about it. And Abbey's situation? It completely broke my heart. 😭💔 Seeing such strong, complex, and fearless women leading the charge through such heartbreaking trials in a dark fantasy world was an absolute joy to read! 👇

Thanks #lovebookstours for my #gifted copy in return for an honest review #freebookreview #lbtcrew #ad Blurb and author bio in comments My thoughts This is a short and sweet xmas comedy with a hint of romance too. The cover immediately attracted me to it, the snowy, seasonal read with vibrant colours would absolutely catch my eye on a bookshelf. We meet Erin, a fifty year old dealing with perimenopause and a workplace full of men idiotic enough to enrage her poor hormones, and also her mum Maeve, aged 79 trying to prove that she is not ready for a move to a care home. How she goes about proving this causes some humour but has a really touching moral to it. Living next door to Maeve is teenager Jackson and his dad Theo. Maeve and Jackson have formed an unlikely alliance and their relationship is super sweet. We see Maeve discover both the fun and the dark side to social media when she starts posting Tickytoks documenting her adventure. I loved seeing how Maeve was enjoying all life has to offer. Erin does come off quite poorly through much of the story, though her heart is in the right place, her execution is poor. It's not until xmas eve that we see a real change in her and the rest of their journey is so happy. My only question after the epilogue is what happened to Roma? Did she come back to the UK with the family? Short, sweet and full of heart. This was a lovely read.

Coming into #OldSkoolChallengeClub with task number 2 this week #ToilAndTrouble where we were asked to find books with a witch 🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️ on the cover. I love a witchy romance in particular but most of my witchy books must be on my kindle as opposed to physical books as I could only find 6, and 2 are about the same witch 🙈 never mind, afterall we are #HereForTheFunNotTheNumbers Wicked - of course Elphaba and Glinda are witches. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - this surely requires no explanation! Rewitched - I havent read this yet but the MC is a witch and it gives real autumnal vibes. Fate Be Changed - the tagine is 'What if the witch gave Merida a different spell?' Then Poor Unfortunate Soul and Part Of Your World are about Ursula the sea witch from Disneys The Little Mermaid. So since its spooky season, how many witches can you find on your bookshelves? I've tagged a bunch of folks and I'd love to see your efforts, but no pressure!

📚📚📚 GIFTED BOOK REVIEW - ECHOES OF DESTINY BY KV SANDS 📚📚📚 A big thank you to @LoveBooksTours for making me a part of this tour, and the author, @KVSansAuthor, for the gifted copy of this book. ✨️Blurb✨️ A kingdom built on honour. An empire built on conquest. A war that will break both. When the conqueror Rajisura arrives at Mund’s gates under the guise of diplomacy, the royal family quickly realises they are not hosting a guest — they are entertaining a threat. Lyka, Mund’s brilliant strategist and Shirpu's sister, sees the trap forming long before anyone else. Shirpu, a king raised on honour, must confront the limits of the values that define him. Kaya, a perceptive queen, senses the fractures forming — in their court, their alliances, and their family. But Rajisura is not a man. He is a force — and he believes everything can be claimed if the cost is paid. As the shadow of war spreads, Mund must decide what it is willing to sacrifice… and what it is willing to become. ⚔️MY REVIEW⚔️ I love fantasy novels that transport me to far away places. Through imaginative worldbuilding, multi-pov and immersive plot twists, KV Sans has delivered. The interplay between the characters gives much to drive the story along. Early on, certain repetitive phrases are used, but these smooth out as you read through. I particularly like the authors attention to setting and landscapes, making everything seem so much more vivid. Good books take the reader to places, and I wanted to be there. I seriously recommend this to all lovers of epic fantasy. 🛡🛡🛡 Buy link: https://mybook.to/IYpTKEB #Ad #LBTCrew #Bookstagram #FreeBookReview

BOOK REVIEW FOR RESET BY KEVIN CHARLES In a world where turning fifty means becoming twenty-five again, one man's second chance is his family's ultimate betrayal. "An absorbing, character-driven consideration of the unexpected cost of recovering lost youth." — Kirkus Reviews "Well-written, well-conceived, and quite entertaining... their complex relationship is narrated with perfection." — BookBrowse (5 Stars) My Review Wow! What an absolutely incredibly fascinating and thought provoking book. The fact that this is the authors DEBUT novel is just absolutely incredible. I really cannot wait to see what Kevin is going to come up with next. The premise is such a unique and fascinating concept that it will definitely stay with you for a very long time. It is extremely well written with characters that have been well built, realistic and are ones that you will either root for or hate, I was shouting at a certain character. I am not a MASSIVE fan of dystopian books but I thoroughly loved it so if you are not typically a dystopian reader please do not let that put you off! I was constantly bringing it up to my partner who is a non reader and even he wants to read it which says a lot! It is also the perfect book for a book club and Kevin also includes some brilliant book club questions to discuss at the back. I would thoroughly recommend this book to absolutely anyone and everyone!! I have never come across such a fascinating, intriguing and thought provoking book like this one!! I cannot wait to read Kevin's next book which hopefully he is writing now! This book definitely gets a 5/5 from me. Thank you Kevin Charles for an absolutely MIND BLOWING and UNFORGETTABLE read! 🌌 BOOKTOUR REVIEW 🌌 [AD-GIFTED] Thank you @lovebookstours and @kvsansauthor for my copy in exchange for an honest review TITLE: Echoes of Destiny AUTHOR: KV Sans GENRE: Historical Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Mythic Fantasy FORMAT: E-Book RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) REVIEW: Echoes of Destiny is the first installment in the To Slay a God Trilogy. This is a fantastic debut novel that had me gripped from the very first page. I really enjoyed the characters and seeing how they react and respond to various challenges. You are part of their journey and can see the growth of each character play in real time. I especially enjoyed the strong family dynamics and the respect of their individual strengths to help overcome their circumstances. The writing style is very easy to read and makes you want to keep coming back for more. At times the chapters were long but the use of page breaks assisted with the flow and provided a good stopping point for readers like myself who prefer short chapters. Overall, this is a brilliant debut novel and I am excited to read more from this author in the future. Highly recommend to all historical and epic fantasy readers. Thanks #lovebookstours for my #gifted copy in return for an honest review #freebookreview #lbtcrew #ad Blurb and author/translator bio in comments My thoughts I was immediately attracted to this vibrant cover, I've also never met a book set in a bookshop that I havent liked. The premise was you will find the perfect book there - one you need at that particular moment, even if you dont know it yourself, and I thought wow that sounds amazing, sort of like you would go in with a worry or a feeling, and the bookseller or some kind of magic said you need this book. It turned out that wasn't the idea at all, there was no magic other than the friendship of the friday bookshop gang. There were a couple of instances of a book recommendation and the reader then learned a life lesson, but they were looking for a specific book or topic, so the book recommendations didn't have that magic I was expecting. I did however think that actually the heart of this story was about humans and being kind and how much a good friendship can do for a person. That's a lovely moral to have. I felt like there were a couple of threads pulled at that we never got the answer to, and that has bugged me a little, who was Jin? What is Kurai going to do? The book has INCREDIBLY long chapters, in fact the 233 pages are made of just 4 chapters! I read the first 2 chapters = 110ish pages in absolutely no time at all, though the second half took me a little longer. I got really invested in Kurai's story and so as things moved on from that I think it lost its momentum a little. I've not really read many, if any, translated books, so it was great to step out of my comfort zone with this and learn a little Japanese culture. I feel like there are still a lot of untold stories at The Friday Bookshop, and I wonder if it is planned to have another book, I would be keen to read this if so. There is a lot of Japanese books and folklore mentioned, the end of the story is followed by some of the authors memories of some of these stories which is a nice touch, I had never heard of any of them so didn't really follow along when popular Japanese books or authors were mentioned. Thanks #lovebookstours for my #gifted copy in return for an honest review #freebookreview #lbtcrew #ad My thoughts This is a quick novella that is easily read in one sitting. It has an easy style to it and I can imagine it would sound well narrated. The writing style is different to most things I read with Paige moving between speaking to characters and then becoming a kind of voice over narrator to things happening elsewhere. The story focuses on Paige and Nicole primarily, and they have a lovely friendship. We also meet Paige's brother and partner and the fours lives are always intertwined in the storytelling. The story is about love, how we find it, how we keep it and how we live life around it and how friendship is the foundation to all of it. I'm sure many will enjoy it. Blurb “The relationship with Gerard was pretty good and I actually thought he was going to propose. Until I found out he was already engaged. It was safe to assume he wasn’t going to propose.” Naïve Nicole has very little life experience. She’s currently single, has a good job in Conley, but is considering accepting a job offer in Greenberg. She is also thinking about getting into a relationship with a high school friend, in Greenberg. Nicole’s best friend's brother moves into Conley and is attracted to Nicole. Cue the not-so-drama. Her more experienced best friend Paige is always ready with advice. Paige is currently in a relationship and doesn't realize that she has trust issues. This rom-com is framed from Paige’s witty, advice-giving perspective, as the observant friend, navigating her own romantic journey. The playful near-misses and overall relatability promise readers fun, warmth, curiosity, and emotional engagement. Author bio Patrice Gouin started reading books at the ripe age of 3 years old. At about 8, she began to amuse herself by writing short stories, and poetry, in her notebooks at home. Not knowing what to expect in school, sharing her classwork came as a surprise. Thankfully, she received favorable commendation. A few decades later, she chose to share with more of the world, in the form of a romantic comedy she named “Blindly Yours: Love, Friendship…And

When I woke today to see a tag from an old friend on here I was so surprised and pleased. @hook.me.a.book was one of the first people I connected with on #bookstagram and she reminded me of some of the fun we used to have creating wild and wonderful #BookChallenges so in respect of that nostalgia I have followed her example in the #OldSkoolChallengeClub and gone with a #OneWordTitleStack It's funny because I am sure I probably used a couple of these for some of our early challenge posts too and yet they are still sitting unread on my #bookshelves sigh, there are only so many hours in a day and so many books to enjoy! I've tagged a random selection of people here and I would love to see your versions of this, what a great way to remember the heyday of Booksta!

Thanks #lovebookstours for my #gifted copy in return for an honest review #freebookreview #lbtcrew #ad Blurb in comments My thoughts For someone like myself who is not well travelled at all, I found the backpacking/ travelling aspect really interesting. I loved hearing about the places seen and the people met. Noah was an interesting guy, longing for adventure, but completely walked over by so many people. I really didn't like Rachel, her family, or his family. I thought they were all completely obnoxious and snobbish. Phoebe was interesting, at times I really liked her, her attitude to life and her future success was inspiring, but then she would completely overreact to something and came across as quite unstable. I would have liked to have known what came next for Noah - I had visions of his subterfuge being discovered and him losing all opportunities, but the book ends before we see any of this, I think this was a missed opportunity to fully explore his change of character by seeing how he handled this kind of thing. It's a quick read, I finished it in 2 sittings over 24hours. The cover is vibrant. It's a different story to what I normally read and overall it was quite enjoyable. Author bio Ian Ostroff is an indie author, journalist, and copywriter from Montreal. But he also has a Mexican-Jewish background and has a deep connection with Latin American culture. You can find his published journalism works in various outlets, including Mexico News Daily, The Suburban Newspaper, and Map Happy. When he’s not writing, you can find Ian at the gym, his neighborhood café, or planning his next travel adventure someplace with a beach and beginner-friendly surf breaks.
