I am so thankful for the humanity, generosity and artistry of everyone involved in making the world premiere of The Ghosts of Chinatown come to life last Friday, September 11, 2026. A project in the works for over a year, this deeply moving piece by @daixcompose with original text by @weiyeh opened all of our eyes, minds, and hearts. I could not have asked for better partners than @sparklavier and Dashon Burton - you two are simply amazing. Thank you to all who came out to share the evening with us.

On September 11, 2026 I look forward to the honor of performing the world premiere of The Ghosts of Chinatown by @daixcompose with original text by @weiyeh along with my brilliant friends and @blairschoolvu colleagues @sparklavier and Dashon Burton. This full length song cycle brings to life the story of the Los Angeles Chinese Massacre of 1871 told from the perspective of the victims' ghosts. Come early to take in a small visual exhibit of photos, books, newspaper articles, and a research poster crafted by the amazing students at Vanderbilt's very own @vandytaaap. Tickets are free for the @vanderbiltu community and can be collected at the door. See link in bio to reserve or purchase tickets ahead of time.
