Last Saturday we celebrated the new space of @rootgallery! And it's looking absolutely stunning.

@yvonne_root_ works tirelessly to make this place her dream space. She never stops to amaze me with her bold ideas and dedication for her gallery and artists.

In only two months we are on our way to @enterartfair in Copenhagen and I'm so looking forward to showing all our colourful works to the Scandinavian art world!

Gorgeous photos by the talented @jacqueline_fuijkschot 💫

Dalmau @dalmau_visual_art was born and raised in Spain, where the passion and temperament of his culture is an intrinsic part of his pictorial works. Evolution series seeks to explore the interplay of color and depth perception as a method of producing abstract, expressive work. The objective of these paintings is to create images of organic shapes, paintings that seem simply born by themselves, where the artist’s action becomes almost invisible.

The erosion of the material, the glazes and the blurring of the color, manages to incorporate into each painting a distance between layers and values, which provides a feeling of depth, mysticism and spirituality. Introspection, motivation, self-awareness and the way of perceiving my relationship with the world are the subjects in which I focus for the realization of these paintings. With these ingredients, I make the exercise to internalize my sensations and emotions in order to carry out this experimentation on the canvases. This painting process is informed by the study of the psychology of color, where each piece aims to lead to a different state of mind of the viewer, through its color range and its visual texture. The range of sizes goes from 15x15cm through pieces of 60x60cm, to medium larger ones of 100x100cm and 180x180cm. The square format is a constant in this series, through which the abstract character of the paintings is strengthened since the square does not provide visual directions to the viewer, as does the vertical format (from top to bottom), and the horizontal (from left to right in Western culture).

The series is produced with a mixed technique, a mixture of transparent epoxy UV resistant resin with acrylic paint.
