🥈 EUROPEAN SILVER | LISBON 2026 🇵🇹

Another European Championship. Another chapter in my journey. Another opportunity to learn, grow and become better. 🥋

This weekend, I stepped onto the mats at the 2026 IBJJF European Kids NO-Gi Championships in Lisbon, competing for the first time at European level as a yellow belt, and in a higher weight category, against athletes with more experience at this rank.

I knew it would be a challenge. But that’s exactly why I wanted to be there. After some tough battles, I came away with a European silver medal. 🥈

Of course, I wanted gold. Every competitor does. But I’ve learnt that progress isn’t always measured by the colour of the medal around your neck. Sometimes, it’s measured by the courage to step outside your comfort zone, the lessons you take from difficult moments, and the determination to return stronger.

The medal represents what I achieved. The experience represents who I’m becoming.

I’m incredibly grateful to my coaches for their guidance, patience and belief in me, my teammates for pushing me to improve, and everyone who continues to support my journey.

A special thank you to my family, especially my dad, for the sacrifices, encouragement, early mornings, long journeys and for always reminding me to enjoy the process, remain humble and never stop learning. ❤️

Congratulations to my opponents and everyone who competed. Thank you for the challenges, the sportsmanship and the lessons. Respect to you all. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I know there’s so much more to learn and achieve.

Win with humility. Lose with grace. Learn from everything. Keep showing up.

Lisbon 2026 — thank you for the memories.

The journey continues. The work doesn’t stop. 💪🏾🥋

Help! My good friend @damagetheboss is currently in Bulgaria and caught people dumping dogs on the side of the road. He took them (I believe 5 puppies) as he could not just leave them there. If there are any dog shelters or charities operating around Sofia please message me or comment 🙏 #bulgaria #dogs

🎥 Why is competing so important?

We caught up with one of our coaches @damagetheboss to hear why they choose to step onto the mats and what competition means to them. 🥋

Whether you’re competing for the first time or chasing gold, every match is an opportunity to learn, improve and test yourself. 💪

What’s your reason for competing? Let us know in the comments! 👇

And now… 🟡 Yellow Belt.

I’m really grateful for this journey so far. Thank you to my coaches for always pushing me and believing in me, my training partners for helping me improve every day, and my family for all the support especially during school and competition prep.

Balancing school, exams, and elite competition… and still showing up every time, hasn’t been easy, but I’m learning, growing, and enjoying the process.

This promotion motivates me to keep working harder, asking questions, and getting better every day.

The journey continues. 🙏🏾

Omo is on the same journey… different chapters.

Ose set the standard but now it’s our turn to write our own stories.

🥋 First European Championships for me… didn’t get the result I wanted, losing out in the quarterfinals. But I’ve learned a lot, and I’m coming back stronger. This is just the beginning for me.

👶🏽 And little sis… only 2 and already on the mats, loving every second 😊

Grateful for every experience, every lesson, and every moment we get to share this journey together as a family.

We win, we learn, we grow… together. 🙏🏾🔥

Tough year returning to grappling after injury, but the basic secret to longevity in training Jiu Jitsu is good training partners.

Whether it’s one round, or drilling with someone new or just someone you work with every session, anyone who doesn’t look out for you, or doesn’t help you through a tough day/session or anyone who doesn’t understand you’re a bit injured, ain’t here for the ride. Training should always be scaled and measured by who you are working with, you can’t dance on your own with this shit. Jiu Jitsu should be for everyone, so remember that next time you bring the wrong energy to the mat.

*Thanks folks, sorry if you’re not pictured I just don’t have a good one of us, but you know who you are, I hope.

See you out there! 🤙🏻

A big thank you to @smartdojos and everyone that was involved. Last weekend I got to try out Brazilian ju-jitsu (BJJ) at a free taster session. Having several patients that participate in BJJ, it was great to get an up close and personal experience of some of the movements involved and gain an insight into why my patients come in so broken! A special thank you to @damagetheboss for the one to one coaching and not going too hard on me 🤣🤣.
The learning never stops!!

De la Riva (@delarivaoficial )details and combinations this week from @taylorpearmanbjj and @will.francis_ Gripping, off-balancing, sweeping and scoring from the guard, this was a lovely way to cap off the week with some specific positionals and rounds.

See you on the mat!
