Team training for the crew enjoying the sun before me cut some shapes into some pumpkins.

The annual family walk around a field and pick pumpkins 🎃.

This year we opted for a traditional field to pick our own from rather than paying for overpriced tickets before we even had a pumpkin in the barrow.

The verdict… we all loved it. Quieter, local and easy. We came away with various sizes and colours ready to carve. The kids also had a hot chocolate before we had a little walk around the wild flower meadow.

Back in the saddle for Rd 1 of the Army Cycling Cyclocross Race Series.

Another great day for cross and a course that had a little bit of everything.

A solid start to the series taking 🥇 overall but as I am a team rider I passed the win to one of the other competitors so it made for a great training ride.

ACCXRS Rd 1 - Buckley Bks Rd 1

3 of our riders competed in Rd 1 of the Army Cycling Cyclocross Race Series today held at Buckley Bks.

A good course to suit all ability’s it’s was perfect for Tim Stringer for whom it was his first ever CX race.

It was a double win day with Dan Cross taking the overall win but as an Army Team Rider stepped out of the results meaning Harry Millikin took 🥇 in the senior category. A great start to the season for him.

If you are thinking about coming along just do it. You won’t regret it. It’s a discipline that offers a little of everything and we would love to have you along - cyclocross bike, gravel bike, mountain or downhill bikes, all are welcome.

Rd 2 is in Harrogate on the 4th November 26. If you need any details get in touch.

Wessex CX League Rd 5 - Basingstoke 🚴

Back between the tapes for another race and although I said I wanted to improve on last week I had a shocking start once again.

I then spent my matches catching on this technical punchy course managing to avoid the other riders who inspected the ground.

Another great race putting out good numbers.

Wessex CX League Rd 4 - Chilton Manor Farm

Another race under a blue sky with nothing but some shine coming down on us.

A technical course with lots of twists and turns, flowing descents and a couple of thigh burning hills.

I still need to work on my starts but the remainder of the race I was pretty pleased with. With two occasions getting off the bike one of which was saved quickly the other needing a roll my remounting was also tested.

As always a great day out from the @wessexcx and @vcventa team.
