Until last year, I went through life thinking I was a good person and that my good deeds were enough to get me into heaven. In college, I would debate Christian teammates, telling them that Jesus was just a good coping mechanism and that I was fine on my own. My identity and self-worth were tied to my hockey career and to the approval of others. Over time, I realized how ultimately unfulfilling the things of this world are.

Last spring, I became curious if there was something more. I asked my friend Dan if I could borrow his Bible and attend church with him. I was really skeptical and had a million questions. After a couple of months of reading the Gospels, praying, and seeking answers, I came to believe that Jesus Christ is God and that He died and rose again for my sins.

On July 15, 2025, I put my faith in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. Since then, everything has changed.

Today, June 7, 2026, I was baptized into Christ, washed clean of sin, born again through water and the Spirit, and received into the life of His Church through the grace of God.

Just like that, the last buzzer sounds and another season is over. It’s crazy how fast the season goes by all the late night conversations, photos, and laughs with the people who made every game worth showing up to. I’m so beyond grateful for every player and every bond made from it. Already counting down the days until hockey season comes back again! Let’s go Thunder 🏒🤍
