🗳️ DID YOU KNOW? YOU CAN VOTE WITHOUT GOING INSIDE YOUR VOTING PLACE!

Physical challenges shouldn’t prevent anyone from exercising their right to vote.

Toronto offers CURBSIDE VOTING for eligible voters who are physically unable to enter their voting place.

Here’s how it works:

✅ Go to your designated voting location, with a friend or support person.

✅ Your companion goes inside and informs election officials that you need curbside voting.

✅ Election officials can bring your ballot to your vehicle or another designated area outside or within the voting place.

No advance arrangements are required.

📅 Election Day: Monday, October 26
⏰ 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For more information:
📧 AccessibleElections@toronto.ca

🔗 Find your voting location and learn more:

Every vote matters. Especially in a close election.

❤️ Think of someone who might need this information. An elderly parent, grandparent, friend or neighbour.

Share this post with them. Better yet, offer to drive them to vote and help them through the process.

You could be the reason someone who otherwise wouldn’t vote gets to have their say.

Three years after October 7, three mothers featured in IMA reflect on loss, memory, resilience, and what it means to keep moving forward.

In a new feature from @haaretzcom, Hannie Ricardo, Ayelet Levy Shachar, and Naela Fakher Aldin share their deeply personal stories of their daughters, the lives they carry with them, and the ways they continue to find meaning in the aftermath of unimaginable loss.

I never expected to find a piece of myself on a dance floor.

I was 50 years old when I went to my first EDM festival.

And I got it.

The music. The community. The connection.

And above all — the love.

These festivals become families.

Standing at the Nova site in Israel, I understood that in an entirely different way.

I stood in that sand, surrounded by the photographs of beautiful young people who came together under an open sky to dance, laugh, connect — and feel completely alive.

And I remember thinking:

I will never get this sand off my feet.

As a mother who knows loss intimately, I couldn’t look at those faces without thinking about the mothers.

The empty bedrooms.
The unanswered phones.
The unbearable absence of the child who was supposed to come home.

They weren’t numbers.

They were sons. Daughters. Best friends.

They came here for music.

For community.

For love.

And standing there, something in me recognized something in them.

Because when you have loved someone you can no longer hold, you learn that love doesn’t disappear.

You carry it.

You carry them.

I walked away from Nova carrying people I never had the privilege of knowing.

Their faces.
Their stories.
Their mothers.

And that sand.

I will never get that sand off my feet.

Maybe because some places aren’t meant to be left behind.

They become part of you.

Nova became part of me.

And Israel became a part of me.

Three years.

Three years since October 7 changed Israel, the Jewish people, and so many families forever.

As Jewish mothers, we know what it means to carry a story. To hold memory. To keep showing up with love, even when our hearts are heavy. And we know that remembering is not passive. It is something we do together.

This Sunday, join Momentum for a special virtual conversation inspired by Till You Come Home, a film that shares the stories of Israeli mothers whose lives were forever changed on October 7.

Adrienne Gold Davis will be joined by Dana Levenson, creator of the film, and one of the mothers featured in it for an intimate conversation about motherhood, endurance, memory, and what it means to carry these stories forward.

Together, we will also view two short clips from the film, shared exclusively during the live event and not included in the recording afterward.

Three years later, we continue to remember. We continue to listen. And we continue to stand with the mothers whose stories are part of our collective story.

Join us Sunday, October 11 at 2:00 PM ET.

I had the privilege of being the MC for the Israeli premier of the Film IMA.

I opened the evening by introducing @danalevenson , the director of IMA. Then I sat down and watched the film.

That was when I truly began to hear and see the stories of these seven mothers.

Watching their experiences unfold on screen, hearing what they had lived through, and then moving into the Q&A afterwards brought emotions I simply hadn’t anticipated.

One of the mothers, whose daughter was murdered in Majdal Shams, came up to say a few words. She was surprised with a basketball jersey from her daughter’s favorite basketball player.

Watching her receive something so connected to her daughter, after everything we had just seen and heard, was incredibly powerful.

I had prepared my introduction. I had practiced. I had visualized the evening.

I hadn’t visualized crying in front of 150 people.

Some moments you simply cannot prepare for.

Thank you to @danalevenson , the mothers whose stories are told in IMA, and everyone who came to listen and remember.

I first me Jacqui last fall her and her husband Yaron when they came to speak at @dorsheiemet about their daughter and grandsons and told their story.

They are such warm and welcoming people. I instantly felt like we were family. When I told them that I was coming to Israel they told me to call them to get together.

When I got to Jerusalem that's exactly what I did and we met for lunch. What I never expected was that they paid for my lunch.

After everything they had been through, they still showed love and kindness. Their daughter deserves to never be forgotten.

"The terrorists being honoured are the same terrorists who murdered my daughter and kidnapped my grandchildren."

Three years ago, Jacqui Rivers Vital’s daughter, Adi Vital-Kaploun, was murdered by Hamas on October 7. Her two young sons were kidnapped, and one was shot in the foot.

Adi was a scholar whose life and work were cut short by terrorists.

Jacqui is also a University of Toronto alumna. It breaks her heart that three years later, pro-terror events “honouring the martyrs” of October 7 are being organized on Canadian university campuses.

Hear Jacqui’s message to Canadian institutions: Do better.

October 7 should be a day to remember the victims — not honour those who murdered them.

Lakers.
ALMA 24 — always. 🦋🏀

And another dream comes true in Alma’s name 🤍🦋🏀
At the end of the MOTHER screening, a surprise was waiting for me…
My dear friend Eric Robin wanted to create something special for Alma, connected to her love for basketball. During a panel with Byron Scott, the famous Lakers player, NBA star, and Kobe Bryant’s last coach, Eric shared Alma’s story… and the surprise began.
A Lakers jersey made especially for her:
ALMA — 24 🏀
24 was Alma’s basketball number — and also Kobe Bryant’s number with the Lakers.
And Byron Scott personally signed Alma’s jersey..
Maybe a coincidence… but to me, it was a moment beyond words..
Her name, her number, her passion… and another dream finding its way into life…🤍🦋
Dear Eric, thank you from my heart for all the thought, time and love behind this surprise🙏
And at the end of a night when I shared my story as Alma’s mother through MOTHER…
Alma was there again, in her own special way..🤍
ALMA 24 — always🦋🏀

The holidays can make someone’s absence feel even bigger. 🤍

A new outfit cannot fill that space. But the kindness behind it can remind a widow and her children: they are seen and not alone. 🫂

Help @colelchabad bring that care to more families this holiday season. 🍋🌿
