This year did not fly by. This year was long. 2019 was a lengthy, uninterrupted series of litmus tests. It was transformative. It was unbelievably fruitful. It was at times painful and then numbing and then painful again. It bent me deeply. And although I never broke, I’ll never be able to return to previous form. I am exiting 2019 in better shape than I entered. Aside from the Sundance Labs and working with geniuses like @garyclarkjr and @bujuofficial and landing the perfect literary agent, what I’m most proud of is the work; that no matter the width of the challenge or height of the obstacle I Did The Work. I’m not talking about just the professional stuff either. I’m speaking on the internal work. The spiritual work. The egoless work. The hard shit. The shedding of skin and unhealthy energy: hugging my haters and responding to pained tongues aimed in my direction with empathy. I am here to learn, teach and heal along with everyone else. You showed me that, 2019, and I’m forever fuckin’ grateful.
