The best kind of work is when all your passions collide and somehow, it doesn’t feel like work. In less than a month, I had the opportunity to produce the Netflix x Best of the Best Bollywood Dance Class event series, bringing it to six cities across the U.S. One of my favorite parts was seeing people of all ages come together to learn and enjoy choreography from the movie by @joyakazi. Each of our instructors brought so much talent, energy, and heart to every city, making each class their own. Personally, this experience was even more special because of the people I got to share it with. I reconnected with old friends and former college dance team members, finally met virtual friends IRL, and made so many new connections along the way. Swipe for some of my favorite moments from the tour, from packed dance floors and incredibly talented instructors to an impromptu Times Square takeover in front of the Best of the Best billboard. Truly a pinch-me moment. A huge shoutout to my village who helped me bring this tour to life in record time. You know who you are, and I truly couldn’t have done it without you. And thank you to everyone who showed up, danced, cheered, shared, spread the word, and made each stop so special. So proud of this @pri.planned.it partnership with @netflix x @netflixgolden @browngirlmag x @bolly_hero and honored to have played a part in bringing this experience to life. And seeing Best of the Best sitting at #1 makes the whole experience even sweeter. I’d like to think this tour helped contribute to that, @hasanminhaj @prashanthvenkat @imlenakhan 😉🎬🎥 Check out @pri.planned.it for more event footage from the tour 📲

Before ✨Best of the Best✨ made its way to Netflix, Palak Sheth, aka @palakpalooza, and her team were building the very South Asian dance competition that elevated the circuit. They created a space where our music, movement, and stories were celebrated by our own community long before they reached the screen. Having Palak teach the ✨Best of the Best✨ Bollywood dance class in Chicago brought it all full circle, bringing the energy and spirit of the original competition back to the dance floor.💛✨🤍Much love and a BIG thanks to everyone who joined us to dance, cheer, and reminisce the music and community that raised us!🫶🏽💚 @pri.planned.it x @bolly_hero x @netflixgolden x @mamajotes x @browngirlmag 💛 Stream Best of the Best now on @netflix.🎬

Today, I had the honor of attending the Best of the Best dance class and fireside chat hosted by @mamajotes, featuring Palak Sheth—and it was such a wholesome and inspiring experience. Hearing how BOB began, the challenges the team faced, and the incredible impact the film has made globally was truly inspiring. Securing representation on a platform like Netflix is no small achievement, and we need more South Asian stories to reach global audiences through major streaming platforms. Most importantly, Best of the Best is a beautiful film filled with powerful performances, incredible choreography, thoughtful direction, and an authentic celebration of South Asian dance and culture. A huge thank-you to Pri and Rohan Sheth for organizing these dance workshops, creating such a meaningful experience, and bringing the community together. Now, I need everyone to watch BOB on Netflix—on every device possible! Tell your friends, family, and everyone you know. This film deserves to rule Netflix. Its success matters not only because it is an incredible movie, but also because every South Asian story that succeeds helps open doors for more of us. Best of the Best is streaming on Netflix now. Go watch it! ❤️ @imlenakhan @hasanminhaj @maitreyiramakrishnan @pkwizzles @bestofthebestdancecomp @palakpalooza

Best of the Best comes out on @netflix Sept 18th. In our discussion about the original BOB competition I learned that the founders always knew the South Asian dance scene deserved a global audience and a movie about it would be made some day. They just didn’t know it would be named Best of the Best. As a dancer, this is a HUGE deal. It not only lets the world into a piece of the South Asian community but showcases dance as a REAL passion, not something to be pushed aside. From logistics to marketing to ensuring all dancers are taken care of, hosting a dance competition should be celebrated as should all the dancers who perform and compete! The language of dance means you don’t have to come from the same background to be on the same team, you just had to move together. That’s what makes this whole world special. Fusion let us go deeper into our own culture while building something brand new with East Coast styles, West Coast styles, classical, street all sharing one stage and speaking the same language through movement. This was the history of the @bestofthebestdancecomp and we are so excited to see it be brought to life in @netflix ‘s movie “Best of the Best.” Behind the Scenes with @beautyinbalance.co Shot by @ravigee At @shopmarigoldmarket

When I got to college, the pipeline from taking dance classes as a kid to joining a high school dance team to performing with a competitive collegiate dance team was already in place. Bhangra teams, Raas teams, Bollywood-fusion team, already existed for years. We had something to look forward to - there was community, culture, long-lasting friendships, a pre-professional dance experience we could in our future. This was definitely my experience going from Raas/ Garba to a Fusion company to high school cheer team to a @ddnlegends team. Last week, I got to sit down with @palakpalooza and @chatmina481 and it really helped shine a light on what that landscape looked like before this ecosystem was already built. It also got us excited about the Best of the Best @netflix movie premiering soon! Behind the Scenes with @beautyinbalance.co Shot by @ravigee Located at @shopmarigoldmarket

This past week, in exact order. 🫶🏽 My observations: Resistance is part of humanity at its core. 🔻 Suffering is ongoing and always part of every journey. 😖 Happiness can only come from inside. ☺️ Love is cultivated. 🌱 How you respond and the action you take is all that matters. ✊🏽 Never ever stop learning and getting educated 🧠 Alot of people are brainwashed and highly misinformed. 🎪 Life is fucking beautiful and wild. ❤️ #souls #lifeexperience
