I took a trip across the country to spend time with one of my favorite people, and whew… there is something so healing about being around the person who’s seen you through most seasons of life (29 years of friendship will do that for ya).

The kind of friendship where you can show up as you are. Where you get to slow down, laugh until your stomach hurts, try on someone else’s lifestyle for a little while, and be reminded that life doesn’t have to look the same for everyone to be beautiful.

I got to love on my amazing bestie, spend quality time with my lovely godsons, and experience the kind of hospitality that makes you want to extend your stay. 😂❤️ She was an incredible host, and I’m so grateful for the memories we made.

📣 M E S S A G E:

As women, we NEED each other. We need spaces where we can exhale. Where we feel safe enough to be honest, soft enough to receive, and free enough to just BE. Our chosen family can be such a gift in that season of life when we’re learning to put down the pressure and pick ourselves back up.

I love my habits. I love my routines. But what’s the point of building a good life if you’re too busy working to actually LIVE it?

We were told success meant working around the clock. I’m learning that sometimes success looks like booking the trip, staying out late, eating the good food, and making memories with your favorite person. 👩🏾‍❤️‍👨🏾

So… did I summer too hard? Maybe.
