“Between”

Creating my very first choreography felt like one of the most beautiful and terrifying things I’ve done in a long time. There were so many moments when I doubted myself, wondering if I was even capable of creating something truly my own.

I overthought everything: questioning every choice, wondering what people would feel when they watched it, and worrying that I wouldn’t do justice to the idea… or to Alex.

But somewhere in the middle of the rehearsals, the emotions, the music, the laughter, and the quiet moments in the studio, this piece slowly became more than choreography.

“Between” became a story about connection, timing, and the things we carry inside of us without always knowing how to express them.

And maybe that’s why this piece means so much. After years of dancing together, sharing one final duet with Alex before the end of his journey as a dancer felt incredibly special and emotional in a way I can’t fully explain.

I think some dances stay with you long after the lights go out.

This will always be one of them. 🤍
