Court & Chris - a ceremony filled with every kind of love 🤍✨

Tears for the ones who couldn’t be there, a song to honour two very special dads watching from above, laughter that filled the room, and so much love surrounding two people beginning their forever.

A beautiful reminder that the most meaningful moments hold space for both the happy tears and the biggest smiles 🤍

Joanne & An asked me to make a few different designs for their special day, and although the brief was simple (forest green & florals), I had to make sure I delivered something unique 🫡

Here is the wedding sign I made, featuring my handwriting and hand drawn florals, beautifully photographed by @danglasgowcollective 📸

Thank you for letting me create this piece for you Joanne & An (JoAn?) 💐🌱💚

🌞Krystle and Jarred 🌞

26-4-2026

The day Krystle and I met at a wedding fair she quite literally fan-girled me 😀
Definitely in the top ten highlights of my Celebrant career as I basked in her adoration as Krystle confessed to stalking me for years online 🤣

Anyways, back to their day 😍
Krystle and Jarred embraced the ‘we are doing this our way’ philosophy ❤️
Them, ther beautiful children, and thier proud parents.. On the beach as the sun began to set..
Simple, meaningful, perfect 👌

See next post for 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 feedback

LAWYER TURNED CELEBRANT EXPLAINS – WHAT MAKES A MARRIAGE LEGAL IN AUSTRALIA?

PART TWO –THE CEREMONY

1) Must be conducted by an Authorised Marriage Celebrant, in person!
(Celebrant must be registered with the Attorney General. Check your celebrant is registered via below link (you’ll be sure to find my name Tina Warnest 😘)
https://marriage.ag.gov.au/commonwealthcelebrants

2) 2 witnesses over age of 18 yrs

3) Specific wording must be used
Celebrant must say the ‘Monitum’ and couple must say legal vows.

4) Consent
A person must understand what marriage is, intend to marry this person, be able to make the decision for themselves and do so without coercion or pressure.
I.e. if medical incident, alcohol, drugs makes a person incapable of above it is celebrant’s duty not to go through with the ceremony, they can offer a commitment ceremony instead and do the legals another day.

5) Paperwork
Legal paperwork must be completed. I make it my practice to send DRAFTs of all paperwork to my couples for formal approval before the big day.
(x2 Official certificate of Marriage and Form 15 Certificate)
Fun fact – this can be done after the ceremony but it must be on the same day as the ceremony.

TOP TIP
If ceremony not done correctly, marriage not legal. Choose a celebrant who knows the law AND knows how to make your ceremony feel effortless.

FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES READING LAWS FOR FUN
Marriage Act 1961 (Cth) References:
Section 5 – Definition of marriage
Section 45 – Marriage must be solemnised by an authorised marriage celebrant and compulsory legal vows that must be spoken by couple
Section 46 – The Monitum (the mandatory wording the celebrant MUST say)
Paragraph 23B(1)(d)4Grounds on which marriages are void (specifically in relation to consent)
Section 50 – Marriage Certificates
Attorney General’s Department – Guidelines on the Marriage Act 1961 for Authorised Celebrants (Section 8.5) The Consent of the Parties is not Real Consent
