I learned a lot about livin’ and a little ‘bout love.🎶

It was an absolute honour to celebrate the coming together of two of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met, two people who couldn’t be a better match. Dan has taught me so much about what it means to be a truly good man. Someone who genuinely cares for the people around him. It comes as no surprise that he’s found someone as incredible as Gab to stand by his side.

Had to represent Scotland in the kilt, all the way out in the Montana mountains, far from home. 🏔️

Our fortieth birthday summer was brought to you by the letter Ⓜ️: Mexico, Mammoth, and Montana.

Our busiest summer yet but also one with so many incredible memories. 🧡

PS - This was my brother’s and my favorite road trip song growing up and I’ve been patiently waiting to visit @danholguin to use it.

imagine going on a reality tv show and meeting these strangers from (very) far away and then a year later you’re at their wedding?

So lucky that I got to witness @danholguin and @gabsthegreat_ on their big day 💍 It was absolutely perfect. So thankful that Trainer Games brought me into your lives 🫶🏼 Getting to share the night with @chrisgriffiths_ made it all the more special (who travelled to Montana all the way from SCOTLAND)

And @_charihawkins + @cjoneal45!!!! You two are the best hosts we could’ve asked for. You got me wanting to move to SLC to be closer to you guys 😭

The biggest thing I learned from this trip… people in Montana and Utah live VERY different lives than I do. Y’all got acres of land and I don’t even have 400 square feet. Why do I live in nyc

The Wind River High Route

One of the craziest adventures I’ve ever been on and wouldn’t have it any other way. And to experience it with the best group of guys you could put together. About half of us met for the first time in person the night before we headed out on the High Route and all left as brothers.

This trip was the nail in the coffin that had me bedridden for 2 weeks, but I already can’t wait for our next one.

Day 1 recap of hiking the Wind River High Mountain! 🏔️
*
Titcomb Basin to Big Sandy - 15 hours, 6,135 ft of elevation gain and 33.53 miles. 😮‍💨
*
Day 3 was a whole new vibe! It felt like a blitz from the beginning. A new gear was found…
*
Dragging a little behind due to some morning movement we caught the group at a creek crossing. Then the race began.
*
The boys pushed for 17 miles with out a group meet and took be 10 miles just to catch up to the front boys.
*
@jeremymille.r expressed his love for the mountains. @rileybuettner_ had the moment of the weekend and found some new belief. ❤️
*
To be clear all the guys could have finished we just started running out of time. 🫶
*
While the last two passes, literally named Texas and Jackass Pass may have been the hardest had the most rewarding views. 🥹
*
Fatigue set in calling @robinpersegol Riley 🤦‍♂️. Then had to show my weight loss transformation of the trip 💪😂
*
We pushed down the back of Jackass and got to Big Sandy just over 15 hours.
*
My first adventure hike with a group of buddies and I couldn’t have been more grateful! The conversation and bonds on a trip like this are priceless. I look forward to the next one 🙏

We are insanely fortunate to have as much stunning water to paddle as we do. I always feel so spoiled that our options here in NW Montana are basically endless. I scrubbed the old library to share a few different paddling images from over the years, hope you enjoy!

My 20 year fitness journey has done incredible things for my life, one of those incredible things is meeting extraordinary people. My last 4 years of ultra marathon journey wouldn’t have happened if it was not for @danholguin

Dan invited me to go run a 7 mile trail run (my first ever trail run). Which led to one of the most meaningful conversations I have ever had. Felt honored that Dan would ask me to pace and crew for him for his 100 mile race knowing that it would be my longest miles ever and had zero experience or fitness for it. That experience changed my life. That experience also gave me the opportunity to my his girlfriend then now his wife @gabsthegreat_

If it wasn’t for Dan I won’t have met some of the incredible people I have extraordinary connections with stretched farther than running.

Thank you for allowing @jessokunola and be part of your special day. Love watching so much love get poured into you and @gabsthegreat_ as you guys have always poured into the people that are lucky enough to call you guys a friend, brother, sister. We love you guys and congratulations on this next phase of life

The Holguins! ❤️

Huge congratulations to our friends Dan & Gab for their beautiful wedding in Montana! It was an honor being a groomsman and being a part of their celebration

Although I’ve only known Dan for about 4 years, he’s become one of my best friends and someone I look up to for just about everything

One of my favorite things about Dan (among many) is that when he does something, he does it with 100% effort. No half-assing. No short-cuts

Whether it’s running 100 miles or building a house, if something needs done, he’s gonna do it himself and he’s gonna do it right. And you won’t hear him complain once

Dan & Gab — Bree and I are so happy for you guys and we can’t wait to see the life you continue to create together. We love you both so much and we’re so excited for more Montana/Idaho adventures! 🫶

p.s. major shout out to my smoking hot wife. I love you so much @bree_rohrer

One week out from Swiss Alps 100 miler🇨🇭

Next Friday August 7, I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet (along side my papá @mason_james209 )

100 miles with 33,000 feet of elevation gain and 33,000 feet of loss through the beautiful Swiss Alps. Many people consider it harder than UTMB and Leadville

I can’t help but reflect on the last 7 months of training. I’ve done a lot of races and ran in a lot of amazing places with some great people

Over 200,000 ft of elevation gain for the year and an average of 2 hours of running per day

I’m incredibly grateful to have a strong, healthy, and durable body that can take me to these crazy places

If you haven’t checked it out, we’ve been documenting the whole prep on my YouTube channel. Showing you what it takes to run a race of this magnitude and how you can take on ultramarathons yourself. We’ll also be documenting the race sharing that in the coming weeks!

See you soon, Switzerland! 🤘

Six and a half years ago, I made one phone call.

At the time, I was just trying to fix my back.

Years of pain had slowly shrunk my world. I was tired of feeling limited. Tired of wondering if this was just how life was going to be.

So I called @danholguin .

I told him I wanted to heal my back and run in the mountains for the first time in my adult life.

He said, “Come on with it.”

So I did.

I had no idea that one decision would quietly begin changing everything.

I did not suddenly became a runner.

I did, however, start collecting evidence that I was capable of more than I’d believed.

Every climb challenged a story.
Every mile rewrote a belief.
Every finish line became proof that my mind had been placing limits where I didn’t actually have them.

The confidence I built on trail, followed me home.

Into my marriage.
Into my business.
Into the way I showed up as a father.
Into my relationship with God.
Into the way I looked at problems, possibilities, and my own potential.

Nature became more than a place to exercise. It became a place to remember who I was.

Six years later, I’ve had the privilege of leading more than 200 people through adventures that follow the same idea.

Not because everyone we all need to go out and run mountains. (Although it’s really cool if you decide to give it a chance 😄).

It is because almost everyone has a part of themselves that’s waiting to be remembered. A part that’s waiting to come alive!

Funny how all of this started because I was simply tired of living in pain.

Sometimes the smallest decision isn’t the thing that changes your life.

It’s the first domino.

If there’s an area of your life where you’ve quietly been settling, maybe this is your reminder:

You don’t have to know where the path leads.

You just have to take the first step.
