SCHOOOOLS OUT FOREVER. Listened to this song last day of school since kindergarten, yeah I’m feeling sentimental

four years of dong what I love every single day. AND if that wasn’t enough, I was with a group of people more talented and passionate than I knew possible. SO gifted. AND if that wasn’t enough I was being taught by the most loving artists that believed in me. To say I am grateful is an understatement. Look out job market I GOT MY BFA IN MUSICAL THEATRE 🤑🤑🤑

This week, directors, assistant directors, actors, and mentors gathered in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama for the 2026 Drama League Directing Retreat.

Over five days, participants investigated Anne Carson’s adaptation of Antigone, explored the evolving relationship between directors and assistant directors, and examined the role, craft, and responsibility of the contemporary director. Through scene work, discussion, mentorship, and collaboration, artists from across the country came together to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, and deepen their practice.

Guiding the week were an extraordinary group of mentors: Christopher Haydon, Artistic Director of The Rose Theater; Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Artistic Director of The Drama League; Nicole A. Watson, Producing Artistic Director of The Playwrights’ Center; and Kim Weild, Head of Carnegie Mellon University’s John Wells Directing Program.
