• MY LIFE AS A MODEL •
Chapter 3 - 2011 📸

Getting rewarded because of my consistency…

From that year I could actually do more than 1 post, as one doesn’t fit all the pictures I got from that year 😅

It was the year I truly felt my modeling career taking off.

I spent months on stay in Cape Town, Milan, Istanbul and Hamburg, flying around for jobs, building my portfolio and slowly becoming busier than I had ever imagined.

At the same time, I hadn’t completely left some of my old jobs behind yet. I was still working events with @cocktail_angels whenever I could. It ended up being my last year with them because modeling became so busy that I couldn’t commit to regular events anymore.

I shot many editorials, magazine covers, commercials and beauty (!!! 😉 read my chapter 2 to know why this is an important one).
2011 I shot for example @bellabaciinternational packaging and a @nivea commercial) and commercial jobs.

Did a Christmas shoot in the middle of August for a german supermarket 😅

But one of my favourite memories from that year was booking a magazine cover through my agency in Hamburg. The funny thing? They were actually looking for a woman around 35–40 years old… and I was only 25. 😅 Very good agent though! Sad @bodyandsoulmodels closed their doors 😢

I was also still doing lots of test shoots. Some were amazing. Some… not so much. 😅 But every single one helped me understand what kind of model I wanted to become.
That year I was still trying to figure out what the Modeling industry needs and wants from me.

Back then we didn’t have Model Coaches who helped us through the bumps of this industry…

I still needed to figure things out on my own 😅

Oh and a little side fact: 2011 was the year I met @guifedrizzi in Cape Town, where we started dating. Pictures with him are coming in 2012 😉

An artist contacted us asking for a collaboration.
We answered honestly — we’re fully booked.

The reply?
Suddenly our space “wasn’t the right fit anyway.”

That shift tells you everything.

This isn’t about art.
It’s about consistency and professionalism.

If you approach a gallery, you’re looking for a platform.
If you don’t get it, and then pretend you never wanted it —
that’s not a position, that’s reaction.

As a collection, you have to filter carefully.
You’re not just choosing works — you’re choosing people.

Because the wrong mindset doesn’t stay in emails.
It shows up in everything that follows.
