What happens when artists stop creating for themselves and start creating through the lens of a phone? @danielcrook takes aim at algorithm culture, the fear of “cringe” and what he sees as an increasingly hollow obsession with cool. His plea to artists is simple: Be uncool again.

LOS ANGELES…thank you for your confessions 🔥🔥🔥

Returning home after an 11 hour flight from Germany to pull together this evening was certainly a masochistic way to celebrate my 39 years, but being gathered in this room surrounded by so many loved and dear ones made the delirium more than worth it. Thank you to @missbarbieqla @andrew.pearson.la @noisepup @bombay_satire @blu3dr3ambby @chadbeisner_ for sharing your talents and baring your souls/holes with us, to @kombucha_sloot for manning the door and sous-cheffing, to the friends and lovers who showed up and sang to me and contributed, and to my dear, sweet love @ramimenjivarholt for putting up with my birthday antics and being the perfect companion by my side.
