It’s not really a solo sport

To me, it’s a team sport, and your team is anchored by you and your coach.

It isn’t whose getting the ball in crunch time or whose calling the plays, it’s more “if these two can connect, understand and respect each other, the possibilities are endless”

There is a give and take here, just like in any relationship, you need to learn how to strike a balance. You both need to check your egos at the door and have open, clear and honest conversations with eachother.

I truly believe that without that you’re not going to have the results you want, and if you aren’t ready for that, then maybe you’re not ready for the sport.

I’m incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to work with @teamsymmetrycoaching and @daniellefigurepro , they both have taught me endless things about not only the sport but how to take and implement their plans and feedback. Everyday I remind myself how grateful I am that they take a chance on me, I wouldn’t be respecting their time energy and resources by doing anything less than giving them that open and honest communication that I also get.

It’s also insane to me how quickly some will jump from coach to coach (some are for very valid reasons btw there are some cases out there that are dangerous). Just like your body, your coach needs time to build you into your vision. You’re not going to Mr or Mrs Olympia in your first season, it takes time to develop.

Give them the respect and patience they deserve to get you there.

Even the best athletes in the world have coaches. Not because they lack knowledge, but because they understand the value of guidance, accountability, and a second set of eyes.

No matter how experienced you are, there's always room to improve.

The moment you stop learning is the moment you stop growing.

Experience matters, especially when someone's health is involved.

The bodybuilding industry is full of knowledgeable professionals, but unfortunately, it's also full of people making promises they aren't qualified to deliver.

Being a coach is more than writing diets, creating training plans, or recommending supplements. It's about understanding your responsibilities, recognizing your limitations, and putting your athletes' health first.

Do your research. Ask questions. Don't confuse confidence with knowledge.

Your health should never be someone else's learning experiment.

There are no rivals here — just two coaches who share the same passion and respect for the sport.

This is my brother, my friend, and a fellow coach. When we see each other at a show, it’s never about whose team is better or whose athlete is competing against whose. We support each other, we support each other’s athletes, and we both want to see everyone bring their best to the stage.

At the end of the day, we’re there for the same reason: to guide our athletes, support the sport, and celebrate their hard work.

Different teams. Same mission. Mutual respect. 🤝💪❤️
