We accidentally wrote enough songs for an EP. Life, Death and Everything In Between will be released in three parts. Naturally, we’ve decided to start with Everything In Between because what even is logic? It lands 4 September. More deets to come… Artwork by @daniistry

Goeie oomblikke. Goeie mense. Groot dankbaarheid. Ek doen dit in 'n oogwink weer! 🔥 let’s slow down a moment and talk about fire, an ancient art It was humans first way of cooking and when I do it I feel as though this is how it should be done. I feel how fire is tactile, visceral, challenging and sometimes painful, and when done right the results are always that much better. The Maillard reaction breaking down sugars and adding depth of flavour, caramelisation adding sweetness, all while smokiness is being absorbed from the burning wood. It ignites nostalgia in humans who have gathered around fires for hundreds of thousands of years. So all in all worthwhile the smoke in my eye and occasional singed skin. It needs patience, constant attention and intuition. Fire cooking is intense. So am I. The fire demonstrations with guests at @veldandsea are my favourite part of the Coastal Forage experience and so beautifully captured here by @daniistry on a day when the mussel pot caught on fire - a rare but very exciting occurrence! Share your fire stories 🔥 #firecooking #sustainableproduce #capetown
