I’m not sure how it even happened so fast... something about the days being long and the years being short but here we are.. and my sweet baby boy born at 11:11pm Easter Sunday 1998 is now 22, the same age I was when He came into this world and changed mine forever by making me a Mommie. Michael, anyone that knows us knows that I am proud beyond measure of you. You were the funniest, smartest, kindest little old man of a little boy and you have grown into a kind, smart, fiercely loyal and protective, sarcastic, witty grumpy old man of an adult and I have truly cherished every moment of the ride and your story has barely just begun. I love you and I hope you enjoyed your quarantine birthday and Easter birthday as much as we all enjoyed celebrating with you. 💙 Happy 22nd Birthday Michael 💙

This coming Saturday my family and I will walk our first Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Washington DC Take Steps Walk. We will be joined by many of you on this team - and for that I can not say a big enough Thank YOU!
We will be walking for, because of, my son Michael. Most of you know his story by now. July will mark the 3rd anniversary of his initial diagnosis of Lymphoma and 6 long weeks while he was poked, prodded, tested and re-diagnosed with Very SEVERE Crohn's Disease. It took 2 years of incredibly aggressive treatments including weekly methotrexate injections, high doses of steroids and then the change to frequent Biologic Infusions of Remicade. After 8 months and 9 infusions of Remicade in August of 2016 Michael achieved clinical remission... less than 1 week before he packed up and moved off to college. Today Michael is mostly healthy. He is an immunosuppressed adult living in a very germs world but he shows daily grace and courage that I admire. He has a chronic life altering disease but it in no way has him or begins to define him.
This year - Michael chose to participate in this fund and awareness raising event by forming a team "Michael's Crohnnies" to participate in this event. I am asking for your support - no dollar amount is too big or too small and If you can't give that is fine too, but if you have it in your heart and your budget - we would all really appreciate your support!
If you want to join us... Pierre, Michael, Meghan, Georgi, Josie, Perri, and our family plus a bunch of our amazing friends will be walking together to support him and the search for a cure!
Thank you all - really - for any support you can give!

@hambojambo9 18 years ago my world changed for the best! God chose me to be your Mom... 18 years ago today I earned the title Mother and you taught me what true, unconditional, selfless love is. For 18 years you have made me laugh, cry tears of joy and frustration, and marvel over your amazing heart and spirit. Michael you are so so kind and giving. Your kindness and empathy are evident in all that you say and do and the people you surround yourself with. You are a protective and loving example to your little sisters; and Baba and I could not ask for a better son. In case I haven't told you enough lately. We are so PROUD of you. Remember my sweet boy...no matter how big you get or how far you go, you will ALWAYS be my little boy. I love you forever and Always Happy 18th Birthday Michael! #happybirthday #imREALLYnotoldenough #seriouslyhowdidthishappen #18 #imnotready #momlife #myboy
