Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate for New York Governor, says only working parents should see childcare benefits, adding he would scrap universal childcare and offer tax credits instead.

Blakeman also says he won't raise taxes, but when asked if that means he wouldn't raise sales and other taxes as well, he says he'll have to take a closer look to develop a plan.

I got hit by an electric bike from behind in Central Park today. I was running in the pedestrian/running lane, minding my marathon training business when someone that looks like a tourist (looked maybe 18 years old) hit me from behind on his electric rental bike.
I'm very lucky that he didn't hit me straight on from behind, I probably could have died like Richard O'Brian! His bike made no noise and he didn't warn me either. The bike looked like one of those tourist rental bikes that you rent close to the park.

Electric bikes are dangerous in Central Park. They do not belong there. They are too fast, and there are too many pedestrians, runners, cyclists, horse carriages and pedal buggies. How are we as runner supposed to protect ourselves? I specifically run with Shokz so I can be aware of my surroundings but this time It did not even help.

@nycmayor you have to fix this! before someone else dies. Richard O'Brian was enough. You need to take action. Put it on the ballot, let New Yorkers vote on it. No New Yorker wants this.
