🇮🇹: Israele tra la Guerra dei Sei Giorni e dello Yom Kippur (1967 - 1973)

🇬🇧: Israel between the Six Days War and the Yom Kippur War (1967 - 1973)

🇬🇧: 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: In the 1960s, relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors in the Middle East were generally bad, constantly on a war footing. The efforts of Jordan, Syria, and Egypt in supporting various revolutionary groups such as the PLO culminated in several Israeli war actions between 1966 and 1967, providing one of the casus belli of the war along with the blocking of some passes with Egypt. Gamal Abd el-Nasser, president of Egypt, underestimated (wrongly) the power of Israel, which was considered inferior to that of Egypt and other Arab countries such as Syria, so once the Six-Day War broke out, he saw the forces of Israel's neighbors defeated, conquering the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank and the Golan Heights from Syria. The State of Israel changed the structure of the Middle East in a few days, extending from the Golan Heights to the Suez Canal, intending to keep these territories, hoping for the support of the USA, which however did not happen, pushing for a temporary maintenance of the occupied territories until a just and lasting peace was reached between the parties (this according to UN Resolution 242).
This structure lasted until the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War in 1973.

Greater Italy
This map represents an Italy that has managed to gain total control of the Mediterranean Sea which becomes Mare Nostrum and has a colonial empire that extends from the Alps to the Indian Ocean. The map should not be confused with that of the Italian empire which represents Italy with a greater number of territories and policies of informal imperialism

Greater Rhodesia and Greater South Africa
This map shows an alternate world where South Africa and Rhodesia have annexed countries that are somehow linked to them in order to prevent communism from gaining a foothold in their geographical region. They are two great African powers, despite segregationist policies, they have implemented policies of openness towards the African population. South Africa has also taken control of a large part of Antarctica but because of instagram I can't show the rest to the east.

Alternative Empire of Brazil
In this map I wanted to represent a Brazil that managed to expand more in South America by occupying the Region Mesopotamica and Paraguay without the chaco region. It has also acquired the Portuguese African colonies and has its own Antarctica.

Empire of the Rio de la Plata
This map represents an alternative Argentina that during the 1940s took more and more nationalist instances and began to conquer territories belonging to the ancient viceroyalty such as Paraguay and Uruguay but also territories such as the Malvinas Islands and established its own boundary lines on the Antarctic continent. It also had, thanks to the support of Franco's Spain, dominion over Spanish Guinea and the island of Fernado Po.

The Three Romes
This post, whose maps are inspired by the indications of Hoi4, represents the Three Romes according to the thought of Giuseppe Mazzini. The first is the Rome of the emperors, represented by an alternative Roman Empire. The second is the Rome of the Popes, whose map should be interpreted as that of an alternative sphere of influence where the Papal States have in its hands the influence over the European nations and the Holy Land. The last is the Rome of the people, revived in the Fascist era as the Rome of the Fascists, in which Italy returns after so many centuries as the ruler of the Mediterranean with a Colonial Empire, in this case stronger than that of the real world.
