How to Go Before You’re Ready: A June Carousel

-oooh baby I know this one.
-Which one?
-The key to joy.
-Ok, that’s grandiose. (…) 👀What is it?
-The key is to go before you’re ready.
-Wait, how do you–wdym? so how do you get ready?
-You just decide to be ready.
-And then?
-Then you grow into being ready.
-Is this a video of you already being ready?
-Um… No I was not ready to dance tablao, but this is a video of me deciding to be ready.
-So when will you be ready to dance tablao?
-When I decide to.

One of the most important breakthroughs I had this year was thanks to a teacher who showed me how to dance with Shakespeare’s work. She kept saying: “go before you’re ready.” (🐐 @isa.arraiza )

Anticipation kills our instincts and chokes our presence.

Going before you’re ready doesn’t mean missing your mark, not rehearsing, or stumbling. To me it means: go before your fear of the saber tooth tiger stops you from running free. The fear is there and it will always be there, but it takes practice to learn how to run imperfectly through the woods, in service of your own survival.

That’s so dramatic! Yes yes it is; no no one is threatening my actual life. But if I can’t suspend judgement in face of my own circumstances then how can I expect those around me to do so when I set the banquet?

There really is nothing like working the Olympics. So grateful to have been able to work my fourth as a Feature Producer getting to recap the best of the day on Gold Zone for #nbcolympics on #milancortina2026

Second video is a feature we titled Drone Zone and it gives a solid behind the scenes to the show.

Huge shout out to @sarahhughes11 and @nildalorenzatto for leading the team through 15 days of non stop action with a whole bunch of hockey goals on a slip. Counting down the days to hopefully get to do it all again for LA28!

Nothing like trying to narrow down the year to 20 photos for a birthday Instagram post to realize how grateful you are for your life 💜✨ This year brought laughter, challenges, adventures, growth, joy from dancing, my first Beyoncé concert, some unforgettable meetings of artistic heroes, and everything in between with some amazing people loving on me and cheering me on. Age 33, thnks fr th mmrs!

do you remember the 21st night of September; or, happy 11 years to me and NYC 💖

When I moved here 11 years ago, I would have never imagined the adventures I would go on, the dream that would come true, and the new dreams that would take shape.

This year has had its ups and down, but I’m grateful for all the joy that came my way: meeting artistic heroes, interviewing Tony nominees, creating a dance family at @aileyextension and performing onstage at @alvinailey, cheering on @nyliberty, and simply spending time with the best people soaking up all this city has to offer.

If there is one thing I’ve learned in the last 11 years, it’s that your community will hold you down. My journey in the city has been a fun and slightly chaotic rollercoaster, and it was made all the better by the people that loved me, laughed with me, and lived life to the fullest alongside me.

So one hand in the air for the big city and the community it has gifted me. Spending today at #BroadwayFlea with friends and letting my Broadway spirit shine was the perfect anniversary 💖
