One day I’ll do the math on how many miles I traveled (and admittedly some of the above are estimates). For now, I’m finally resting as my contract with NBC comes to an end.

I have a lot more to say about working in sports TV production, the friends I made along the way, and the athlete stories I got to tell. Maybe I’ll write about them, maybe you’ll hear about them over happy hour, or maybe it’ll all just stay tucked in a memory for me to think about and say “wow, how lucky was I!”

I’m not sure what the future holds but it sure is going to be tough to top the past three years. Thank you to everyone who supported me on the journey and I hope our paths will cross again soon.

A special week for this Olympic and Paralympic fan! I came with a job to do: learn everything I can about the new sliding center in Cortina that will host the Games in February. I learned so much about bobsled, skeleton, and luge - and it was a privilege to speak with the athletes, coaches, race organizers, fans, and experts. Thank you to everyone who gave me their time and made feel welcome! I can’t wait to come back… but even more I’m so excited for the Games to begin so everyone can see how amazing these sports and this venue is! 🤩 taken in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy by @danmeyer2010

*UPDATE* due to injury, I’ve deferred to 2025! Can’t wait to cheer everyone in a couple of days and come back stronger than ever in the new year!

The NYC Marathon is just one week away!!! Training for this has been a brutal process but one that has helped me rediscover the joy of running - something I lost a long time ago. I’m so happy to have it back! I’m almost at my fundraising goal of $5000, help me cross the finish line supporting Women's Sports Foundation!!

Hi! So… I love the NYC marathon (see evidence above) and it’s pretty much my favorite day of the year. It’s loud, friendly, and wild! I’ve gone every year since 2016 and now in 2024 I get to run for @womenssportsfoundation!

I’m running in honor of all the women who inspire me daily, including the friends who have already run the @nycmarathon!

In honor of Olympic Day, I’m sharing some exciting personal news that has me feeling like I’m at the top of the podium. I’m very happy, excited, and proud to announce that I’m joining the NBC Olympics and Paralympics Research team this summer!

I’ve been obsessed with the Olympics ever since I was a kid. One of my first memories is during Atlanta ‘96 when the six elementary school principals in our hometown did a torch relay to promote an Olympics-themed reading marathon during the Games. Literally, they ran through the streets with a tiki torch and passed it off to one another—it was amazing.

I’ll always remember Michael Phelps dominate in the pool, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings own the beach volleyball court, and countless Americans blowing the field away on the track. The thing that kept me coming back is the community I built watching Games. Sitting around the TV with friends and family for the Opening Ceremony and its extravagant pageantry. Screaming until I go hoarse and jumping up and down during relays. Getting emotional at the slightest hint of overcoming adversity to win or sharing camaraderie in a loss. I have yet to meet a hype reel package that doesn’t make me well up from excitement.

Those few weeks of the Olympics and Paralympics are everything to me. I love being a superfan who gathers people every few years to enjoy the spectacle of sport in all its glory.

As an adult, I traveled a lot and visited host cities like Sydney, Beijing, Lake Placid, and Atlanta. At the Rio 2016 Games, I volunteered in the press room for Taekwondo and Fencing. It was the first up-close look I had at journalists in the field, and suffice to say, I was interested in exploring it as a career.

Dropped by my old UCLA haunts on a whirlwind weekend in LA! So much has changed (who is Rocco and why did he turn Maloney’s/O’Hara’s into a tavern?). So much hasn’t, too! (Hi, Gushi!) Not pictured but also visited: sculpture garden, inverted fountain. and botanical gardens. Also went into Ackerman, Kauffman, Powell Library.
