So fierce, so proud…and that’s just the shirt!
Love these photographs taken a few weeks ago during the @hanwell_hootie a few weekends ago. Bring on festival season! First 3 photos credited to @awavisuals, 4th photo to damianwalker.com. And if you’re reading this far into the blurb, yes, in that 4th photo I am crouching down, as I didn’t want to overshadow everyone with my natural 6’5 height.

Here’s brief musical compilation of some of the cover songs I’ve thrown into my 2023 set lists, usually at very short notice. There were even more songs, and some really crazy ones that had to be omitted for time purposes. Big kudos to the great musicians who joined me at this regular gig and can be heard in these clips, including @adamhayesdrums @jackgillenguitar @michaelhussaindrums @adamhayesdrums @rickykinradebass @quinn_goldblum @mikeredfernguitarist @2_step_hen
Next year I might figure out how to do scrolling text so I can list ALL the songs, in the style of one of those TIMELIFE CD Collection infomercials you used to see on late night tv. Those were the days, and I’m looking forward for more to come!

Did you come to this show?? Comment below!

Tasty live action shots from just 2 weeks ago, when we were the opening act for the Hall of Famer @lionelrichie in Cambridge. Band were fabulous as usual, full credit to them for matching the heat and intensity of the weather that day! Thank you for having us @cambridgeclubfest

Was it worth it? Planning my biggest ever show, and all the troubleshooting, worrying and sleepless nights, that came with it, just for the chance to play the mainstage in front of thousands of people, supporting @dianaross for @cambridgeclubfest? Yes it was, and I’d do it all again. BEST GIG EVER
Photos by @kiploades, thanks to him, and all my crew, including @rickykinradebass @lyle_moxsom @danamgray @andrewliddellmusic @michaelhussain91 @beckieharrie @lauracherrydance @themeyerdancers, Shotgun Sam, Pistol Pete, all the staff and crew from @strawberriesandcreem, the immensely impressive stage & technical crew, and YOU, who voted for me to appear at this tremendous event. ❤️

The funky music, the funky shirts, what’s not to like?!
Please enjoy my rearrangement with the band of the classic ‘Higher & Higher (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me)’, by Jackie Wilson. Big thanks to the guys for helping me out! Full version on YouTube.

Wishing you the merriest Christmas possible! As hectic as this year has been, I’m so beyond grateful for all the love and support I’ve received from you. Please enjoy this mini cover of the most soulful seasonal song I know. Isn’t it lucky that me and @rickykinradebass both happened to have Santa hats?!

Remember this gig, a year ago? Taken at our final headline show of 2019, leave a comment if you were there! My memory is spending the day before in a hospital bed, and worrying I’d have to cancel. We didn’t realise it would be the last time (for a while) the full Love Explosion band would take the stage. The world can only go back to normal when can do what we do best again, in front of a maxed out audience!

Wish I was rolling on the river right now, how about you? Finally got the full line up together for this classic cover of ‘Proud Mary’. Tina Turner is without a doubt one of the Greatest of all Time and tricky singer to cover! Thanks to Ricky, Sam, Jack, Ben, Andy, and Dan for taking part! Full version on YouTube, listen with headphones to get the full funky effect!

I was getting a little lonely playing music on my own, so I called some of the guys, and we made this for you! Mixed and edited it myself! Listen with headphones to really feel that BASS! Always fun to dust of this Jackson 5 Classic live, so here you go! Let me know your suggestions for other covers! Big thanks to @bswanmusic @rickykinradebass @jackgillenguitar and Sam Montero!
