Judy Hinchey was denied a license to keep Clover, her miniature horse, in her Auburndale backyard. Newton's Health and Human Services Department cited city regulations requiring that large animals such as horses, cattle, and donkeys have their manure stored at least 100 feet from other lot lines, which isn't possible on Hinchey's property. She argues that Clover, a 28.5-inch, 65-pound mini horse, shouldn't qualify as a "large animal."

The city has given Hinchey until October 19th to remove Clover from the premises. She told @danreidyreports she plans to fight the decision in court.
