How do you handle stress in the moment?

Everybody talks about their self care routines to de-stress and live a healthy life, but what do you do when sh*t hits the fan?

Instead of scattered emotions, panic, and uncertainty, imagine if you could stay grounded and calm under pressure.

Here’s what I’ve learned from living with a chronic illness for nearly a decade while being an entrepreneur.

When in doubt, do nothing.

There have been many times when I have impatiently rushed a decision or outcome when stressed under pressure, which always causes more problems.

So, how do we stay calm under pressure when the world seems to be crashing down on us?

For me, it’s always been about staying in the present moment, and the best way to do that is by tuning into your breathing.

Many people recommend Navy Seal Box Breathing, but I simply tune into each breath, turn off my mind, and follow each inhale and exhale to find peace of mind.

It’s never about avoiding stress but learning to be calm under pressure and effectively navigate experiences.

Another key piece is to control what you can control. Once you’ve brought yourself back to center with your breath, you can think more clearly and navigate that stress with composure.

It’s easier said than done, but you can take your power back from external circumstances and pave your path forward with each conscious breath!

Experiences + Mindset = Growth

We all have a story and battle adversity behind closed doors and my message is to show that it doesn’t matter what you’re going through but how you respond and bounce back stronger by turning tragedy into triumph ❤️‍🔥

My purpose for @novafusionco and Inspiring Kindness comes from a place of pain and empathy.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in the summer about three weeks going into my senior year of high school, became homebound for the year, and quickly had the first of two surgeries that removed my entire colon four days after graduation as my illness rapidly progressed into Crohn’s Disease.

During this time I was constantly going to the ER and was admitted into the children’s hospital at @uofmichigan I saw kids who were half my age and suffering with similar conditions and that hit me with a new perspective and sense of duty going forward.

It was extremely embarrassing and vulnerable for me to share my story at first but I learned that it wasn’t about me – sharing my story brings awareness to the 1% of Americans who suffer from IBD and inspiration for those who are battling adversity in their lives.

My original purpose with Nova Fusion and our Podcast, EMG Transformations, is to be an icon of inspiration that extracts universal life lessons and be a beacon of hope to empower others to overcome the obstacles in their lives 🌞

The mission behind our new and upcoming sister nonprofit organization is to Inspire Kindness through connection, education, and resources for children, adults, and families with IBD and various autoimmune diseases 💜

I know firsthand how a little kindness can spread a long way when you’re battling behind the scenes and that’s why I am so passionate and excited to share this message with you!

Thank you @christianperryrealestate for the thoughtful interview and to @brandongaydorus for hosting this incredible conference 🙏🔥
