One of my favourite tasks I like to ask my students is to shout out some words that describe how the song makes them feel.

Them:
🗣️FIRE
🗣️ENERGY
🗣️FUN
🗣️POWER

Me: Show me then 🤭

Them: Oooooo

This moment was caught right after that exchange last night, we had a laugh and it set the tone for the rest of the class. It breathed life into everyone and every move they did after that 🥹

Whether you’re training with me for dance technique, skill, performance or building the body for it , the thread that connects it all is the same:
HOW you move puts the WOW in WHAT you do. Move with intention, not just go through the motions.

Thanks everyone for showing up fully in your bodies and in the space, locking in and going for it ❤️‍🔥

Big love my catbangala @janna.imperial for capturing this moment 🙏🏽

Forever grateful @maddancehouse for always giving me a home throughout my journey 🥹

“𝑴𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰’𝒎 𝒔𝒐 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍!” 💛

“To say it was life changing, understatement! I thought I knew a little before I went...I didn’t know enough! @sambaliscious_rio_tour offered a tour to learn about Samba and Brazil’s Afro Roots. I cannot wait to go back and learn more!”

Mount Maroon / Caves Loop 🌿

We did this hike back in July - it was warm in the sun even then and a bit windy at the top. After a little scramble on the way up, we headed down the West Ridge, following the cairns / rock stacks to the caves (and kind of the @alltrails app 😅). Lots of slipping on our butts on the way down - I recommend long pants that don’t rip (thanks @zorali 🙌🏽) to save your skin 😅. Lots of great views and open spaces to just breathe it all in.

Learnt a few lessons from then, and was smarter with my phone battery for the next hike - made it back to the car with 1% 😁 #adventure @daphmanhattan
