🥰 A most perfect day with @julie2650 🥰

There's something very special about making book friends & it's hard to explain to those who don't understand. But here's a prime example of just how wonderful it is.

I recently met Julie in Boston during the "We're coming to the Fenway" event. We had a large group of loons attend, many of whom we met only in a group chat. After spending time together, Julie invited me to Rachel Reid's Toronto Book Tour for the new Hardcover release. Y'all know me by now that I'm like HELL YES PLEASE!

We created a whirlwind HR tour for the 31 hours we would have together. Check out the last slide for our starting itinerary. And then we made a bunch of new friends & hugged more booksta friends! In our final hours together, we toured Dundurn Castle, Winchester Arms (The Kingfisher) & multiple Canadian Tire locations. It was an ABSOLUTE BLAST!

Thank you, Julie!! For the invite, for our new found connection, for a grand adventure! I'm so thankful for this new friendship w/ you! 💋

I had the best time last night meeting so many other loons (including @readinginpjs 🥰) in Shane Hollander’s hometown🍁. This was such a great event. Many of us exchanged bracelets and HR items, we got the new hardcover of Heated Rivalry with signed bookplate and cute gold bookmark, and @rubybarrettwrite did such a great job hosting!

a *little* day trip was WELL worth it to hang out with so many incredible Loons & hear an absolutely hilarious and thoughtful discussion between Rachel Reid & Ruby Barrett @rubybarrettwrite 💜
I especially loved the questions about the romance genre!

I’m absolutely exhausted but my heart is so full 🥹

🥳 It is my favorite person's birthday today. Daphne is my rock & my safe space. She loves me just as I am, regardless of my flaws. We can talk about books or Heated Rivalry or life or just share tiktoks. We can talk every day or I can go quiet for a few weeks. Regardless she is always there for me. I never feel pressured to be a certain way with her, Daphne always makes me feel good about myself. I will forever be grateful to Rachel Reid & Heated Rivalry for bringing us together. I truly don't know where I would be without her.

She is sunshine in human form. I love you so much Daphne. I hope you have a day just as special as you are. ☀️✨️💖

Mushy post incoming!

I’m having a I feel all the feelings and I feel them deeply day! They may have been allergies.

I have always loved books. I have always loved talking about them and I love that feeling of being inside them.

But I never knew reading books would literally mean finding my people. 😭😭😭

I said I was deep in the feels.

To explain this particular picture- I saw a t-shirt someone was wearing with Hudson and Connor and I said JOKINGLY we should get a t-shirt with our pictures with the boys. @daphnefangirling responded in jest I’m only wearing one with you and the boys.
@marginallyintrigued & @see_attached_bibliography don’t ask me how made this happen 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I walk down to the lobby and I was surrounded by myself and the boys.

Please explain how I got so lucky?

But it is even more than this. This book community accepts people for who they are. You don’t need to look or act a certain way or like the same books. You can be quiet or loud, be an early bird and go to bed early or you can have insomnia and literally never sleep. You can be funny or you can be a pretty serious person. You can be a hugger or not love hugs. You can buy books (like a ridiculous amount) or not. That feeling of belonging is hard to find but when you do - WOW

The community I love is more than just these stunning humans in this photo. They know exactly who they are because I think I’m pretty clear about the people I love.

✨️I have been struggling to read lately, there has been a lot going on. I also have been struggling to stay connected. So I decided to make a sunshine tbr - featuring happy, feel-good book recommendations from the people who bring my life sunshine. The Proposal, The Long Game scene, as requested by @daphnefangirling after winning my 1500 followers competition.

I was originally going to just draw the last scene as the main image, but I felt there was just so much more around it. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to draw, especially being able to see the room and all the little details.

I still have a long way to go when it comes to backgrounds and storyboarding for that matter, but I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Maybe I'll do another competition like this if/when I hit 2000 followers.
