Aloha Tower turns 100! As Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation I had the opportunity to join @hawaiidot and the community in celebration of a century of Hawai‘i’s maritime history at the Aloha Tower. In preparation for Aloha Towers centennial year the 10th floor observation deck has been newly renovated and is now open to the public for the first time since the pandemic. For a century, this landmark has welcomed Hawaiʻi’s visitors and kamaʻāina home, all while watching over the harbor that brings in nearly all of the vital resources we rely upon each and every day. Mahalo to @hawaiidot Harbors Deputy Director Dre Kalili and their team for their hard work and efforts.

NOW I FIND OUT YOUR SISTER WORKS THERE. PEOPLE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TIMELINE.

Vote YES on Question 2.

Hawaiʻi can’t solve its housing shortage without the wastewater, roads, and water infrastructure that homes depend on. Our counties have almost no good way to pay for that— and so our infrastructure ages, costs mount, and families continue to get priced out.

If it passes, I believe it could be one of the most significant pieces of housing legislation I’ve worked on.

RISE bonds let a county build infrastructure in a designated area first, then pay it off with the extra property tax revenue the new development brings in. No new taxes and no rate increases. Forty-eight other states already use this tool. It’s not a controversial financing tool and it’s commonly used in red and blue states. The only reason we need a constitutional amendment is because of a quirk in our state constitution where we are very specific on what types of bonds are allowed.

The bill passed the Legislature unanimously. Now it’s up to you.

Leaving a constitutional amendment blank counts as a NO, so please mark YES on Question 2.

Mom Squad Hawaiʻi, TAP 808, and Coach @kili.watson are coming together for domestic violence awareness through education and prevention for the young men of the Nānākuli Golden Hawks Football Team.

TAP 808’s Jordan Renfrow will help @nanakulifootball young men recognize abuse, understand unhealthy relationship patterns, and learn to build safer, healthier relationships.

GAME WEEK for the Boys on the WESSIDE!! THE BLESSED SIDE!! Nanakuli and Waianae. Most would look at this as a rivalry game.. FAMILY IS NEVER RIVALS. We play on both sides but live on ONE SIDE. These three has never played against each other my son @jjkaio._12 and my grand nephews @certified._.bubz @spunjah.cross. Always together, ganging up on their siblings/Cuzins and always making a fuss with everybody. Two things I know for sure.. 1) they will give it all they got with all blood, sweat and CHEERS. 2) No matter the outcome, they will give God all the Glory and Praise that he rightfully deserves. My parents, (their grandparents and great grandparents) laid a foundation that they know how to build upon. And they would be so proud of them.
