this is me a few times a week after my shower. I do 5-10 minutes of red light therapy with @lumeboxpro

Here are some of it’s health benefits:

Growing up, my parents planned a summer beach trip with our cousins almost every year and we made SO many great memories.

Darius & I decided to plan one this year (now that we’re the “parents” lol) for Alex’s first ever vacation! 🤸‍♀️🏝️

But this “vacation” was SO DIFFERENT 😂 it was definitely a challenge for me as a new mom to experience being on a trip like this where everyone is doing whatever they want in vacation mode and I can’t…

I couldn’t just be down at the beach or the pool whenever I felt like it.

I couldn’t have dinner with everyone most nights because it was too late (and we learned the hard way— Alex loves her bedtime…don’t you dare f*ck with it lol 😂)

But even though it didn’t look like that for me, I realized how much I’ve grown as a mom already since she was born.

Because for a while, the FOMO was real. 😂🤣 But on this trip, I didn’t feel it AS much. Lol.

Celebrating 3 BIG THINGS TODAY 🥳⬇️

1️⃣ my paps, Alex’s 59th Birthday! As much as I miss him & as sad as it can sometimes be that he’s gone, I always feel grateful 🥹 for all the fun memories & moments I got to share with him — boating, ski trips, camping trips, beach trips, so much excitement & adventure…so much LIFE 🥰

2️⃣ Joolep’s incorporation! It’s been one year since @joolep.app was incorporated 👀 damn…time flies haha and although the CEO would probably say not enough has happened in a year, I would argue that SO MUCH has happened in a year. The app is finally almost ready for beta launch 🚀 & we just KNOW it’s something everyone is gonna LOVE. Can’t wait….like really tho…

3️⃣ I found out I was pregnant (with baby Alex) on this day last year 🤭☺️ maybe I took a pregnancy test on this day on purpose? 🤔 I honestly don’t remember 😂 in fact, Darius had to remind me it happened on this day…LOL

Anyway, that’s it ✌️ just wanted to share these celebrations with you! 😉 and yes, Alex was named after her grandfather, Alex (just in case ya didn’t already know) 🖤

Yes. I pooped. 💩😂

Here’s an excerpt from the full birth story on Substack ⬇️

“On the next contraction, I started to push. I really wanted to get the baby out, but I was also kind of scared. I didn’t want to push too hard too soon and tear so I guess I just felt it out for a while…

While I was pushing, I couldn’t see anything that was going on — just Darius’s face — but, I liked it that way. He told me afterward that I was pooping some while pushing and they were taking my poop out of the pool water with a fish net-looking thing. 😂😅

I’m SO glad I didn’t see that happening because I feel like I would’ve either laughed and been distracted or I would’ve been traumatized.

After 15 minutes of pushing, the head was visible. Apparently, I was digging my nails into Darius’s arms pretty intensely (although I don’t remember doing this at all). I was also being vocal with my pushes, but in the same way I had been through my contractions all day. Jessica told me to try pushing and moaning with downward energy and to try closing my mouth instead. It took me a while before I got it right, but once I figured it out, boom…Alex was coming out. According to Darius, the final few pushes were EXTREMELY intense (I was on it super Saiyan style), but I was so focused IN on my body that I honestly have no idea what I really sounded like or what I was doing externally. At 3:13 PM, Alex was born! (P.S. we decided to name her Alex after my dad (he passed away back in 2017)).”

what’s surprised me the most about myself as a mom so far ⬇️

I didn’t expect to feel so “attached” to her 🖤

At the start of my 3rd week after giving birth, I went to get my nails dun & it felt MORE stressful to be away from her 😬 even though I had a bottle of breast milk prepped for Darius beforehand just in case she got hungry…

I was STILL worried about being away too long 🤣😂🙄

It’s been a WILD month away from here & away from my business. It’s been tough to let go of it all for all this time — to rest, recover, adapt to this new mom life & be present for Alex 🖤

Normally, I’d be stressing over not working, not showing up here, & not selling, but this time I haven’t been…

I’m just riding the WAVE 🌊 & I know when I’m ready, I’ll be back to it 😜 & I can’t f*cking wait…

so many new ideas floating around in Notion right now 👏👏👏
