I will no longer accept things I can’t change. Especially Disney closing Muppetvision 3D. I will hold that grudge til I freakin die

Still miss Muppet*Vision 3D. Let’s continue to support and help find a new home for Jim Henson’s last project. Thank you. 💚🌈

At least the Muppets are still at Hollywood Studios in Rock n’ Roller Coaster {which is a huge success & one of the best Disney ride overlays} and still excited about the new Monsters, Inc. Land & Door Coaster. 🙂

We all know about the act Fozzie did with the snowman, but how would it go if he did standup comedy with a ghost…?

How do ghosts stay fit?
By exorcising daily.

Why do ghosts like to ride elevators?
It raises their spirits.

Why are ghosts so bad at lying?
Because you can see right through them!

Why did the ghost starch his bedsheets?
He wanted everyone scared stiff.

Where do ghosts buy their food?
At the ghost-ery store!

How do you know when a ghost is sad?
He starts boo hooing.

What position does a ghost play in soccer?
Ghoul-keeper.

Why do ghosts and demons get along so well?
Demons are a ghoul’s best friend.

What advice do ghosts give their children?
Only spook when spoken to.

What do you call a truly funny ghost comedian?
Dead funny!

I had an incredible day at the GalaxyCon in Des Moines this weekend! Lots of really cool costumes, artwork, and I had the opportunity to meet Steve Whitmire, the guy who performed Kermit for nearly 30 years! I chatted with him about how he was tasked with performing Beaker, his deep appreciation for his time on Fraggle Rock, how Rizzo didn’t obtain his New York accent until the filming of “The Muppets Take Manhattan,” and a hilarious running gag that he had with head writer Jerry Juhl. It felt just magical listening to him talk about the work he put into his characters, the fun they had, the music, and how he and the other original performers created so much great material when working with Jim Henson. He really is a kind, engaging guy, and I felt privileged that he shared so many different inside details that I’d never heard before. Once he saw that I knew my stuff, we really got into the nitty gritty! We even attended a special screening of Muppet Treasure Island with him, along with Kevin Clash, and learned quite a lot about how the movie was made— which, for those of you who don’t know, came with a LOT of complications, but ultimately it was a joy to make, and they definitely talked a lot about working with Tim Curry. This was a great experience, and it was made even more exciting by having @pizza_alert_ along for the trip!

“Halfway Down The Stairs” is a poem by A.A. Milne (the creator of Winnie The Pooh) which was later turned into a song. During the first season of The Muppet Show, Kermit’s nephew Robin sang this beautiful tune. It soon became a hit, reaching number seven on the UK charts in 1977.

I posted this five years ago after receiving a custom-made Kermit the Frog puppet, lip-syncing to a clip from the Tony Randall episode of The Muppet Show. One of the best things about watching the old guys— particularly Jim Henson— was noticing the subtleties in their performances of their characters. Not a whole lot of arm-waving or head-wiggling. Just solid performances that made the characters seem as human as possible.
