A massive THANK YOU to everyone who attended NORTH WEST DUNGEON FEST last weekend ⚔️

It’s hard to put into words what was an incredible day at @southportbijou last Saturday - to each person who attended and created an incredible atmosphere, to each spellbinding artist who created magic on stage, to each merchant who shared their incredible wares, to the staff at Bijou for working hard to provide the perfect space, to @harpcoffeeandgames for providing ticket support, and to the unbelievable hard work of the NWDF team - to Jem for a year of co-organising, planning and inspiration, to Adam, Alf, Graeme, James and Joe for their support and dedication to the cause behind the scenes - it means more than you can all possibly know…

Going forward @blaggardrecords will be taking the dark months to gather strength again, to arise anew next spring - this year has been a whirlwind of releases, planning and building - we hope to return at full strength next year…

Thank you again to everyone for making last Saturday a success… now onwards to the future ⚔️

Welcome back to the magnificent Sunday Seven... this week it's...

Yeah, that's good but have you heard it on cassette?

1. Leeds 4 Palestine Compilation by Shooting Tzars Records (2026)

A great compilation for a great cause featuring loads of Leeds bands including Bathing Suits and Divorce Finance.

2. Beneath the Eildon Tree by Wire Worms (2026)

A dark and utterly spellbinding album of doom-folk from this inspired Leeds-based collective. Read my full Louder Than War review by clicking on the link above.

3. There is a Borehole in the Dark Valley by Dark Valley & Borehole (2026)

You're lost on the moors and it's getting dark... Dungeon-synth bursting with drones and brooding blackened tones.

4. Earth Mother Fucker / Pound Land by Earth Mother Fucker / Pound Land (2026)

Two bands, 40 minutes and one hell of a racket. Filthy, belligerent brilliance from Ipswich and Manchester. Punk/ noise rock par excellence.

5. Collision by khost (2026)

A cassette only release from this Birmingham-based industrial duo. No one does suffocating dread quite like Khost. Guests include Godflesh and Jo Quail.

6. The Grey Wolves - Deconstructed Reconstructed by Various Artists (2026)

A tribute to noise/ industrial/ power electronics outfit The Grey Wolves. Suitably horrifying contributions from Primitive Knot, Crawl of Time and many more.

7. Haunted Lives (A Retrospective) by Grey Malkin (2026)

A genuinely stunning compilation of music from Scottish artist Grey Malkin. Dark, haunting folk and atmospheric experimentation. Otherworldly.

ALL AVAILABLE ON BANDCAMP

Velunia has just returned from a short summer sojourn.

Imagine my delight when opening the front door, sifting through the junk mail that ceaselessly pours through my letterbox and finding these two gems from @blaggardrecords amongst the takeaway menus and political flyers.

TREGUARD - The Ultimate Adventure
Borehole x Dark Valley - There is a Borehole in the Dark Valley

Saw TREGUARD's live debut a month or so ago. Great stuff @charlie.butler.180

Also,.excellent work as always from John at Blaggard ⚔️⚔️
