“After the Digital Nuke, the earth was a desolate place, the dust of crumbled technology swept across every continent. The seas shrunk, the lands swelled. The only humans that remained were members of the church… was it faith? One would think so. But not the church, they believed it was the sun, well more so they believed the sun was an incarnation of god. Once they were all that was left, there was no need for there warmachines, they locked them up and went about worshiping the sun….. that was until now. Now the heretics were coming from further than earth itself.”

A small warband/lore creation I have been building, perhaps a few more warbands to rival and battle against them and a world to build around them all may come in time. Not for any game system or existing world.

Keeper of the Keys 🗝️

My buddy @mindfulheresy and I recently completed a project where we both painted the same model at the same time, though in completely different states, across the course of a few weeks (I'm so slow 🤣)

The goal was to plan and map out projects and share our step by step process, wins and fails to learn from and inspire each other.

A really great experience I would recommend, and something I've found both invaluable and thoroughly enjoyable!

Big thanks to @mindfulheresy for being such a legend and bearing with me.

THE PASSAGE OF THE PILGRIM

DOCUMENTATION RECOVERED:

One occupied position along the recorded route provided an unusually clear view of the procession during its passage.

The structure was already occupied when the group approached. Armed subjects took positions along the remaining walls and entrances, with several weapons kept ready throughout the observation.

No attempt was made to obstruct the road.

The procession did not alter its course.
Examination of the recording revealed a degree of organisation not apparent during the initial documentation.

Subjects carrying books, censers, vessels and other objects associated with religious observance retained consistent positions within the moving group. The same arrangement has since been identified in recordings from other sections of the route.

These objects therefore appear to correspond to specific functions within the procession rather than individual possessions.

As the main body passed the outpost, several subjects moved away from the established formation and approached its occupants.

They remained outside the defended structure. Repeated gestures were observed, including lowered postures and raised hands consistent with formal supplication or prayer.

The occupants did not respond in kind.

No provisions were transferred at this location.

The main body continued throughout the interaction.

The separated subjects later resumed movement with the procession.

Review of earlier route footage has since revealed comparable behaviour at other occupied sites. It had not previously been recognised as a repeated pattern .

Whether these interactions are intended as invitation, instruction or another form of observance remains unknown.

Observation remains ongoing.

NOTE:

Second part of ARCHIVE No.011, moving the procession into a warmer, drier region.

I built the scene around a guarded ruin from Dreadwatch and a more open composition.

Brothers and Sisters of the Grimdark Universe, welcome back to Tortuga's Grim Rosaline! We are continuing on with another of several shorts, the Tormentor Cults Herald of Agony! I will be posting of me furthering my grimdark style thanks to the Grimdark Compendium's amazing video lessons!

Also, I can not state enough how amazing Bestiarum Games miniatures are! I have already signed up for a membership with them and am going to start diving into D&D style gaming with Bestiarum Games. So get ready for upcoming videos of CHAOS Warhammer 40k and Bestiarum Games miniatures painting sessions!

And like I always say... Grim, for the Grim Rosaline!

The Porcine Juggernaut...

A @bestiarum.games miniature I’ve had for quite some time, and one I’ve also been working on for quite some time, but only now finally managed to finish...

Once again, I combined a variety of different techniques and concepts for this one, starting with a highly varied skin tone, heavy rust and verdigris effects, realistic gore, and the representation of glowing embers and ash.

For the skin, I used a combination of PVA, oil paints and various washes to build up the different textures and tones.

For the rust and verdigris, I used the fantastic products from @goblinshut : #dirtydownrust and #dirtydownverdigris

A lot of acrylic washes and enamels also went into the piece.

For the glowing embers on the base, I first used pigments and Ultra Matte Varnish to create the appearance of a burned-out fire pit. I then painted smaller pockets of glowing embers using red and orange acrylics. Finally, I added a few highlights with yellow fluorescent paint to really make those hot spots glow.

Bomb @greenstuffworld. I adjusted and lengthened the tails so they’d form a nice corkscrew shape, and added details to the balls with putty 👀.

THE FORM OF THE END

DOCUMENTATION RECOVERED:

Examination began once a partial reconstruction was stable.

No single anatomy could be established. Structures recur at different scales. Several limbs terminate within adjacent tissue, while others continue into portions absent from every surviving frame.

Cross-reference produced one match: the Traveller.

Features previously dismissed as incidental deformities recur in the same proportions across earlier manifestations.

The smaller forms may have been constrained expressions of the same entity.

More troubling was the reconstruction itself. Measurements taken from one anatomical landmark could not be reconciled with those taken from another. Perspective correction increased the discrepancy.

The visible body may represent only the portion that could be [21 WORDS UNRECOVERABLE] within the observed environment.

Repeated modelling produced the same inversion: the subject was not entering the recorded space. The recorded space was [8 WORDS UNRECOVERABLE].

NOTES:
This piece started as my HOTF2 submission and became one of my more experimental Archive projects.

It was my first time deliberately building a heatmap across a large flesh-heavy miniature: Reikland Fleshshade as the midtone, Carroburg Crimson for warmer areas and Coelia Greenshade for colder ones, reinforced later with Villainy Ink enamels.

I covered most of the skin with a Green Stuff World PVA layer, peeling it away around selected wounds and stretching UHU across them for torn membrane and connective tissue. UV resin was used for the mouth fluid and eyes, with dry pigment mixed into the resin.

For the base, I wanted the ground to look pulled from the sea beneath the subject, with the surrounding water moving inward. The background extends the same distortion beyond the piece.

Brothers and sisters of the Grimdark Universe, it's Monday, and in honor of our beloved Rosaline I proudly present to you my finished piece, the Howling Head and Grasping Groves from the Bestiarum Games Anatomists series!

This is my Horrors of the Flesh 2026 entry, and I really tried to push myself even further into different styles of blood & gore with decaying & corrupted flesh. I am really happy with how this turned out! #HOTF2026

As always, thank you to the Grimdark Compendium for all your amazing courses, Bestiarum Games for the best horror and grimdark miniatures, and the ConclaveObscura with some of the most insane artists I have ever seen!
