Finally Iranian enough to play one on TV! (My memoir)

Last year through recommendations from different sources (and the amazing Tim and Amy) and yes (auditions) the team at the NIGHT AGENT S2 trusted with me a few responsibilities; wearing different hats!

I was considered to be a translator, consultant, and a dialect coach working pre, production, and post with the best of the best. It was a huge job and challenging but our showrunner Shawn Ryan always included me in discussions and the incredible producers and writers supported me daily: Paul Bernard, Marney Hochman, Canella Larabee, @munisrashid , @imogenbrowder, @anayatf, Tiffany Shaw-Ho, @Corey Deshon—I really couldn’t have done it without you!
And the unsung heros Zoe Rotter and John Papsidera for their eye for casting.

@theadamarkin, @lilyinapad, @ GuyFerland, @nlopezcorrado , @shelton9mil— I learned a lot from watching each of you work with the actors and the crew and be a boss!
And finally, I had the pleasure of working with these graceful humans, the heavy lifters, and the atheletes in the arena, so to say; Ms. @lucianebuchanan, @amandawarrenofficial @arienne_mandi , @anoushaa_ , @marwankenzari, @navidnegahban , @iamkeonalexander, @ashkahnactor, @neimahd, @keivonakbari, @equuspolo, @marjie33, @kiarash_amani, @monnasabouri, @siazami, @sergiohortega, @mershadtorabi @tabisafari @siyaros
I was in awe of you everyday on set and watching your work doing take after take in wee hours of the morning and beyond.
And my special friend @fira22 @sanamaste Erfani who were so nice to see on special days.
And @darvood for comfort during those loooong night shoots!

To my lovely friend actors, filmmaker extraordinaires and my dialect coaching help: @rashazam and @assal.ghvm, and @baharbeihaghi . Thank you!

Our AD team, sound and props departments for supporting my one-woman department. Art department, set dressers, and VFX, and everyone at post production! ❤️ thank you!

The badass @rickrosset and @_juliacleary and @Hannah Williams!
(I know I’m leaving out so many people)

Thank you for letting me be in the trenches and build the plane as we were flying it!!

Celebrating this amazing short I shot over two years ago with @darvood and @georgelako in collaboration with @kidsinthespotlight with music by @kiongozimusic and myself. We won Best Music @micheauxfilmfest and a few others. Great experience. Check out the last slide to hear some of the music.

Still on cloud nine after THE GOOD LIFE won Outstanding Music at @micheauxfilmfest on Sunday night!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

When we say their stories, their way, we mean it. Drama? Bet. Hip hop musical? With original music?? Let’s goooo!

We cannot say enough thanks to the incredible team that made this film come to (good) life! @darvood directed a masterpiece with the @alphawolvestv dream team @georgelako @annaleafiachi @chrissaul et al.

@justin_cornwell not only shared his acting talents with us, but the music was a labor of love for him as he recorded & mixed the songs in his studio with Kion!!

@alexisdavilaa who stepped in at the 11th hour & was so wonderful to have on set!

Each writer on this team — Sci, London, Adrian, and Juliet — embraced Kion’s vision for Kaliph & they built on such a unique concept to create such a beautiful story on not just the pursuit of passion after a loss, but on forgiveness and one moment not defining you forever.

Thank you to @uscsocialwork who hosted the Script-to-Screen program THE GOOD LIFE came out of last summer!

Thank you, thank you, thank you @noelbraham Courtney & the entire @micheauxfilmfest team — you are making #OscarMicheaux very proud with the level of excellence you delivered all week long. From the screenings, to the panels, to the Awards — you allowed our “kids” to shine in the spotlight & built on the impact their films are having. We’re so proud & appreciative.

These smiles on Kion & Justin’s faces say it all — & if anyone else needs some original music, we can put you in touch!
