World speed is over! I had a great time shooting, and learned a lot of new things. About 6 months ago, my father and I decided to shoot worlds, and my goals were to break 60 in PCCO and RFRO, and carry optics and open were to be under 100. Well, I managed to successfully accomplish all of my goals! I shot a 59.27 in PCCO, which is the new world record as well as the first sub-60 at worlds. This was also my mark, of being the youngest ever world speed shooting champion, at 13 years old. In Open, I shot a 82.46, RFRO was 59.42, and in carry optics, I shot a 91.68. My placings were, 1st place PCCO, 2nd Place RFRO and Carry Optics, and 3rd place Open. I would like to thank the match staff for all of the work they have put in, and I hope to be there again next year!

But one last thing, I would like to congratulate @grant_kunkel_ on his 53.97. This is the closest anyone has ever gotten to breaking 50, and it will probably be broken by grant next year. Amazing shooting by him

The chance of a lifetime (for me, anyway). I got to shoot along side some of the best shooters in the world today at the 2021 @thesteelchallenge World Speed Shooting Championship. At a small media launch event back in November, @fn_america gave a sneak peek at their next step in the market, and a bold step it is.
⠀
At Broadfield Plantation in southern Georgia, they unveiled the new FN 509 LS Edge. The “LS” stands for “Long Slide,” and the “Edge” moniker is because FN intends to put out a new line of upgraded high-performance models based on the duty-tough 509, of which the LS is but the vanguard.

Doing a little arts and crafts turning stickers into magnets for the safe. This is just the latest batch of stickers from matches that I’ve competed in, companies that sponsored those matches, or companies that I support.

There is only way to get one of these coins and 2 opportunities for this hat!
Drills are drills and are run for practice, technique and efficiency.
The FAST test was created by the late Todd Louis Green (Miss you man!) as a test for fundamentals of accuracy and speed to test your ability to measure what accurate, precise shooting at speed along with other handling skills like a draw and reload.
The F.A.S.T. test:
Range: 7 yards
Target: 3×5 card (head), 8″ plate (body)
Start position: weapon concealed or in duty condition with all holster retention devices active; shooter facing downrange in relaxed stance with arms down at sides
Rounds fired: 6

Drill begins from the holster, pistol loaded with exactly two rounds. On the buzzer:

1. draw
2. fire two rounds at the 3×5 box
3. perform a slidelock reload
4. fire four rounds at the 8″ circle

To count, the F.A.S.T. must be shot from concealment or from a recognized retention holster. Open-top retention holsters without concealment (e.g., Blackhawk SERPA, Safariland ALS) add an additional 0.50 to the shooter’s time. Using both a standard duty retention holster (e.g., Safariland SLS, SSIII) as well as flap/retention magazine pouches will result in a 0.50 reduction in recorded time.

Only scores earned during a Langdon Tactical class or similar ptc-recognized event are eligible for record status or winning a F.A.S.T. Challenge Coin.
