Quiet focus, the rhythm of keys, and a moment suspended in time. There’s a certain discipline in the way he dresses, where every detail feels considered, never excessive. The clothing doesn’t ask for attention, but it holds it all the same. A study in restraint, where style simply becomes part of the work.

The very talented @davebenning.customs made this beautiful type writer for our family. The detail is incredible, and it is always a treat to see how creativity can inspire such a cool piece of art.

So hey! 2 dear friends, @davebenning.customs & @orondekairi and I have started a video podcast! This for me as an introvert, & listener rather than talker, is scary, but I’m doing it- kind of like Bob in What about Bob- I’m sailing! I’m sailing! & having friends to cheer each other on is huge, lemme tell ya.

We all realized that we work alone most of the time, as most artists do, and it can get lonely. And it’s easy to get stuck inside your head or spin your wheels with nobody to bounce ideas off or bring you back above water as needed (raises both hands)! So we decided to get together once a week online & just chat about whatever we’re doing, or thinking, or working on, or whatever comes up as we go about our business of making art. Favorite art supplies? Doing shows, conventions, commissions, markets? Sharing on socials, or not or…? Artist life ups & downs?

& we thought hey, what we’re talking about is relevant to most artists & maybe they’d like to hear about it too & chat about these things as well? And so the Sunday Night Art Exchange came to be.
Along with ourselves, we have plans on bringing in some of our favourite creative people to chat about *their* lives and creative businesses in all different fields as well.

No gatekeeping, no bullshit, no selling, just real people talking about our real experiences in the art world and business.

And, we’d love to have you join us in the conversation! Got a question for us? Want us to delve into something in particular?

Hope to see you there, find a link to our Youtube channel in my bio, and if you love it, please subscribe so you can catch every new episode!

Bespoke Suits & Custom Kicks 👌🏼

Yesterday I stopped in to see my friend Humaam’s new location @maisonhumaam where he develops and creates custom pieces for his clients.

You can even take it further and have hand painted artwork by @davebenning.customs on suits or sneakers, which creates a one-a-kind piece for clients.

For the holidays Humaam, along with Dave are inviting clients in to write letters on vintage typewriters, which I did and enjoyed!

As a proper typer myself, had a whole new appreciation trying to use these machines that are more than 50 years old.

As a Makeup Artist & Stylist, I have such an appreciation for exclusive Fashion pieces, with such attention to detail ✨

…and experiencing the Parfum & Cologne bar is very luxurious with brands like @nicolaiparfumeurcreateur , @xerjoff and @christianlouboutinbeauty … ❤️‍🔥

Last week, we had the honour of presenting the 2025 Tom Pate Award to BC Lions offensive lineman @andrewpeirson .

Andrew is the kind of player who shows up for his team, his community, and the people who need a voice. From his years of leadership in the locker room to the 250+ school presentations he’s delivered through Be More Than a Bystander and Team Up to End Racism, he’s consistently used his platform to push for change and support young people.

Andrew has also made a huge impact back home in Kingston, founding the Heart & Stroke Golf Tournament in honour of his father and raising thousands of dollars for stroke awareness over the past 12 years.

A leader. A mentor. A community builder.

Congrats again to Andrew on being named the 2025 Tom Pate Award recipient. As part of this recognition, we were proud to present Andrew with a custom painting, painted by @davebenning.customs

Making great progress on this Only Murders In The Building, murder board typewriter!
This machine has 14 miniature character portraits and I’m almost there! 😅🎨
Really excited to get this one ready for clear coat and re assembled by @oldschooltypewriters
I use a magnifier to paint the portraits, they’re only each around the size of a quarter.
Using @angelusdirect paints, 2thin and some 0 brushes.

Such a great show! @johnnyhoffman5 🏆 @stevemartinreally 🏆 can’t wait for season 5!

This murder board typewriter lost in the basement of the Arconia will soon see daylight to tell more murder mysteries. Stay tuned!
