Get @reshare_app • @davekloc I’m so damn pumped about this - here is my poster for Michigan’s finest band - @smallbrownbike! These guys are just… the best. I know so many of my close buddies agree with me (here’s looking at you, bookscheckem ) and we always seem to find a way to talk about Small Brown Bike every time we talk. I remember being on tour once and a band I didn’t know sound checked with Cannons and Tanks and i instantly had 4 new friends. Well - SBB is going out on tour, starting with FEST in Gainesville, and playing their album DEAD RECKONING for its 25th anniversary! These posters will be with them at the shows - the edition is small, by the way, so pick one up and don’t miss out! They were printed by fellow Michigan craftsmen, @vgkids who I tip my cap to. I could go on and on about this band but I’ll leave it here and just get back to listening to them, and 84 Tigers, and La Salle, and Able Baker Fox… WOW! (Thank you so much for letting me do this poster, Mike!!) #smallbrownbike #deadreckoning #vgkids #screenprint

A huge thank you to @davekloc for designing these incredible, limited edition posters, and @vgkids for printing them. We’ll have them at @thefestfl this weekend (and our shows in Nov/Feb). We play Fest on Saturday at 6:50pm at Vivid. Our first show in 10 years. Can’t wait. ❤️⚓️

Get @reshare_app • @davekloc Here are my posters for @billystrings and his two shows here in Los Angeles, tonight at the Orpheum and then tomorrow at The Forum! I made this image in honor of one of the best spots in the city - Echo Park Lake and its iconic swan boats (and turtles!) I will actually be AT the show at the Forum, signing posters and I’ll be able to see the show which will be my first time seeing Billy Strings live - a fellow Michigander! These will be available at the shows and then from me on Sunday morning at 10 AM PST. Hope to meet some folks at the Forum! #billystrings #echoparklake #swanboats

09/19/2008 Metal Frat - Ann Arbor, MI

The Swellers

Shows in a dinning room with mattresses covering the walls will forever be some of my favorites. RIP Metal Frat. @jonodiener was always one of my favorite drummers to shoot. As I’ve said before, my memory sucks so I don’t know who else played this night. Pretty sure it was welcome week and Dave Kloc’s birthday party. Big thanks to my UofM friends for getting me into these shows/parties.

The Sleep Comic Book features the amazing illustrations of artists Dave Kloc and Arik Roper. Although the comic book is a single story line written by Al Cisneros that begins the saga of The Marijuanaut’s adventure to Planet Iommia, the comic book’s illustrations are shared between Kloc (pages 1-12) and Roper (13-24). It’s a unique visual experience that is a journey unto itself. Posted here is quick behind the curtain peek at the artists’ process. Enjoy!

Pre-order the comic now at thirdmanbooks.com or grab a copy at one of Sleep’s shows!

About the Illustrators:

Dave Kloc was born and raised in Southeast Michigan but has lived in Los Angeles since he got sick of scraping ice off his car before work in 2007. He’s been making art for bands and comedians such as Foo Fighters, Grateful Dead, John Mulaney , and Nate Bargatze for most of his time since arriving in CA.

Arik Roper is a freelance illustrator, been living in New York City most of his life. He’s been fortunate to make a career of doing creative/fantastic/visionary art which includes various outlets such as album artwork, animation design, game design, screen print poster design, and book and magazine illustration. Sleep fans know Roper’s iconic cover art for Dopesmoker, plus he has worked with Howling Rain, Earthless and more. Much of his work is collected in his book Vision of the Hawk: The Art of Arik Moonhawk Roper.

YOU GUYS! I’m currently loading up the car to blast out to BOSTON U.S.A. for this weekend’s MASS MINI CON…last year was an absolute blast, and I can’t wait to hang with all these buddies again in a few days!

HERE’S THE DEAL: We’ll have a bunch of posters, art prints, an assortment of original drawings for the true heads, records from our record label, little doodads, probably some hugs, and it’s looking the there’ll also be a little room for some weirdo archive things I thought we were sold out of.

THE DETAILS: It’s September 12th & 13th—that’s THIS Saturday & Sunday, and it’s in the @wgbh building in Boston…which kinda rules (that’s 1 Guest Street, if you’re sticking pins in maps right now). Ticket info is over at @massminicon…they’ve also got the rest of the info I’m sure I’m forgetting.

THE BUDDIES: Seriously, look at that lineup (swipe for it)…it’s absolute bonkers. There’s also a very rad silent auction with some crazy stuff going up, some movie screenings and poster releases and talks and whatever else. It’s going to rule.

If you’re in the area, come be a buddy and say hey and maybe even grab some stuff to lighten my drive back home a little bit. Okay…gonna keep putting flat things into stacks and stacks into the car…see you soon! (If you go there)

GOOOOOOSE! Colorado, you showed up for your community!

Together, Goose fans + the Conscious Alliance community came together at Red Rocks to help put food on the tables of kids and families facing hunger. 🥫

Huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make these food drives possible, and to @goosetheband and @davekloc for using music + art to make an impact.

This is what happens when a community comes together: music feeds people. 💜🎶

Get @reshare_app • @davekloc I’m truly honored and excited about this - I got to do a tour poster for the damn DESCENDENTS. I don’t think he will ever read this - so I’ll tell you - I got to email directly with Bill Stevenson and for those who know - you know - that’s a cool thing that was definitely on the ol bucket list. I was able to do this 4 color tour poster for the band and their current US tour that’s about a week in at the moment. These posters are out with them at shows and they were printed by my DEAR SWEET FRIEND - @moonlightspeed who is a hero and an inspiration. If you grab one of these at a show - send me a pic, I want to see em out in the wild! Thanks to @radchadrad for the mega assist, powerful stuff. Ok - gonna go refill the ol COFFEE MUG. MUG. MUG. #descendents #posterage #tourposter #COFFEEMUG
