This Sunday is the “Malibu Classic” fundraiser at Dukes. DMZ will be in the silent auction offering up a Custom Surfboard or Vintage restoration. There will be many items from surfboards to surf products and novelty items to bid on. Also we will be screening the new Dick Brewer Movie. Come on down get some waves at the Bu and finish off with a great evening at @dukesmalibu with @malibusurfingassociation 501c3 🫶🏼🤙🏽

I’m back shaping I gotta say, the joints feel great. Muscle is tender but powering thru. I used to feel so much pain midway through a board almost unbearable. Not anymore!!!!!!!

Hips replaced, the path to recovery starts now! After over 12 years of living with excruciating hip/back pain, and dealing with it on the down low until I couldn’t take it anymore . Stoked to hopefully now have a second shot at a life I love. A very sincere Thank you to all my friends and loved ones who checked in on me. God bless you all 💪🏽🫶🏼.
Hoping I’ll be back riding a shortboard again as well as logging this late summer! 🙏🏽

Thirty Seven

As the years seemingly fly bye faster and faster, each birthday ushers in a great deal of self reflection.

Understanding our childhood upbringing leaves a direct imprint of how we love, play and process emotions.

Looking back fondly, knowing how safe I felt to just be myself has stuck with me. Moving into the future my biggest desire is to return that same energetics to all those I’m fortunate enough to meet.

I’m beyond grateful for my family; friends, athletes and a loving partner. They bring an unquantifiable love and value to my life that I wish more people could experience.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world!

With this understanding I continue to better myself mentally, physically and spirituality so I am able to give back with pure love.

King of Skatercross - king of the Valley for all of us ...
we all loved how he shredded unique lines!
we pioneered @mtbaldyresort then Mtn High together with
Tom Sims ,Victor and Paul Sitton - he was first to jump off the cliff at Mt Waterman that i later showed to @davemoore_dmz / @same_but_not_the_same early years in the bubble helicopter for one of the movies when they were shooting shotguns for the DoubleOSzabo section and it crashed / in Valdez on down days hanging together in Valdez...
just couple skateboard kids from the valley
then the Black Flys parties, his motocross and later mountain biking antics, his wife passing hit him hard -
then the book., and his last injuries which musta really hit him hard .. we started talking again and he was and always was to everyone just so super genuine and cool...

Daisy and her late big sister Lilly made their debut together today at @sunstoneanimalhospital 🐶🥰🐶

I'm so happy to have these pieces featured at my wonderful local vet office! Dr Meredith and the entire staff have helped me and my family navigate the difficult time we had saying goodbye to sweet Lilly earlier this year and then helped us celebrate a new chapter as we welcomed Daisy home a few months later. They are seriously our kind of people who offer holistic options and sincerely care about their clientele. I will never take my pets anywhere else 🙏

So anyway, back to the art... These original paintings are hanging in my home collection as priceless treasures but we were happy to share the love and hang these small framed prints AND offer my custom pet portrait services to their clients.

I do stylized commissioned portraits that aim to capture the personality of each little creature while also incorporating other meaningful places, colors and symbols into each unique piece.

Puppy portraits are officially one of the cutest things I've ever done 🥰

After losing my sweet Lilly girl earlier this year I painted a portrait of her in Malibu to remember her in her favorite place, laying on the beach and basking in the sun.

A few months later we brought our new puppy, Daisy, to see the vet and showed her a picture of the Lilly painting.

Dr. Meredith loved the painting and asked if I could offer pet portraits to her clients and/or hang some artwork in the office.

This idea inspired me to paint this new portrait of Daisy, also in Malibu but with a sunrise behind her as she has brought so much light, love and healing into our world after an unusually difficult year.

Now the originals will stay at home in my private collection but I have framed a couple prints to display at Sunstone Animal Hospital in HB (best vet ever!) and I made this flyer to offer my services to other pet parents.

I work from photos you provide and offer an initial sketch and color scheme for your approval before completing the painting. My painting style is not ultra realistic but aims to capture the pet's personality through a stylized portrait. You can do a simple portrait on a solid background and/or incorporate other meaningful places, colors or symbols to make it even more personalized and meaningful for you.

Just throwing it out there... I can also offer gift certificates if you'd like to give the gift of custom art to a pet lover in your life.

So don't be shy, treat yourself or your family to an original painting of your furry friend. Prices vary according to size and content but I can work within your budget to make something special and truly one of a kind.
