POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some highlights from the summer of music I’ve always dreamed of in no particular order. I got to travel a bit as well as play in some of my fave local joints. I played outside more than I ever have, and I got to spend time with so many lovely and legendary people. I can’t wait for more and I’m so stinkin’ grateful 💖

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these beautiful opportunities - this is my favorite thing in the world. A massive thank you to my bandmates for being cool and talented and inspiring and thanks to all of you for showing up in all kinds of beautiful ways. See you at the next one🫈💕

Thank you to Rieder Homestead for having us out to play in your enchanted garden-hill-tree-scape!!!The pleasure was all ours!!!! 🌻🌸🎻 NEXT UP: a wonderfully old historic (clean and well-kept) barn in Wisconsin!! How lucky are we!? A handful of tickets remain for @everwood_farmstead in Glenwood City, WI on Aug 1!

Each year at Blue Ox Music Festival in Eau Claire WI, there are thousands of individual yet universal experiences playing out side by side simultaneously. We captured 17 of those stories.

This year, photojournalist Tom Smouse and writer Carol Roth talked to attendees, artists and volunteers, discovering commonalities in their experiences and collecting delightful anecdotes about what made their time at the iconic festival uniquely special. Check out the article on our Music Distillery blog (link in bio). And stay tuned for another post with some of Tom’s gorgeous concert photos!

We were not expecting our final Haven House Concert of the year to sell out so quickly. Given that it has we have decided to add an encore performance on September 4th with my full band The Long Way Home.

The show will feature Tommy Vee, Bennett Vee, Isaac Levy, Jasper Nephew and Kurt Durrwachter. Grateful to be able to spend one more night with you all out here this year.

‘There Goes the Devil’ is a song that has stayed relevant with the passage of time. The act of trying to make a living without selling your soul feels like a constant balancing act.

Not sure it has ever sounded better. The intersection of this band on this night at this venue was so special. I am blessed to play with musicians that I feel so connected to both on and off stage.

Thank you Debb Morgen for capturing these videos.

500 Miles at the Rieder Homestead. This place already has all the magic, so all we needed to do was lean into it..

With the current spotlight on Minneapolis and Minnesota as a whole, I'm compiling a Spotify Playlist of Minnesota artists to share with the world. I know it's a small thing, but I thought it might be an opportunity to share the great local artists we have in this state.

If you are an artist or know of a local artist that I can highlight in this Playlist, please comment and I'll take a listen.

Also, please help me with this by liking the post and sharing the Playlist.

Episode 1 of Behind the Sound is live and I’m fired up! 🙌

Big thanks to Ted for kicking things off and sharing the story behind his Video of the Year 🎥🔥. I pulled some photos from that project (plus a few extras) to bring the energy of our convo to life.

🎬 Watch Ted’s award-winning video here:

This is exactly why I started Behind the Sound — and it’s just the beginning.

This last weekend has left the band overwhelmed by the generosity and support of venues, fans and community. Thanks to Green Room and Reider Homestead for hosting our release weekend performances. Thanks to all the guests that joined us onstage, to those who came to the shows and to all those who documented that memorable weekend in photos and footage. Thank you Jullian Records. We are so grateful for all of the love.

Confession. I only snapped 62 photos last night, which if you know anything about concert photography, is very little.

The reason? Because when you’re in a room with Joy Clark @joyclarkmusic, you get swept away and memorized.

I can’t think of a greater space to see Joy. The Rieder barn continues to capture forever memories. This is just another one I snagged last night.
