Back in 1999, our guest was handed the keys to a promotional van and told to cruise around Manhattan dropping off CDs and flyers at major studios. Sounds like a dream gig, right?

Except the van was promoting Missy Elliott and had "SHE'S A BITCH" plastered in massive letters right down the side. Talk about diving right into the world of marketing. Dave's episode drops this week! Don't miss it

Dave the Broker is breaking it down plain and simple. If you're just hoarding cash in a savings account and flexing a bank balance, you've still got that 9-to-5 employee mindset. Real wealth isn’t about temporary clout; it’s about owning assets and collaborating.

China is steadily shifting its focus toward owning and trading physical gold rather than relying solely on paper contracts or financial claims backed by gold. This strategy strengthens China's financial security by placing real, tangible assets on its balance sheet instead of promises that depend on counterparties. At the same time, China continues increasing official gold reserves while encouraging greater domestic demand for physical bullion.

♟️Why is China doing this?
1. Reduce dependence on the U.S. dollar
Gold is a globally recognized reserve asset that cannot be created by another country's central bank.
Increasing gold reserves helps diversify away from dollar-denominated assets.

2. Prepare for financial uncertainty
Physical gold serves as a hedge during inflation, sanctions, banking crises, and geopolitical conflict.

3. Strengthen the yuan
Larger gold reserves can increase confidence in China's financial system and support the international use of its currency.

4. Increase financial sovereignty
Owning physical bullion removes counterparty risk associated with paper contracts that may settle in cash instead of delivering metal.

🙈🙉🙊Real-world examples
A. The People's Bank of China has consistently added gold to its reserves over recent years as part of its reserve diversification strategy.

B. Analysts expect China to lead global growth in physical gold investment, with bars and coins becoming increasingly popular among Chinese investors.

C. China has expanded the role of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, which emphasizes physical gold trading and settlement, providing an alternative to Western pricing centers.

💶Economic takeaway
China appears to be positioning itself for a world where real assets matter more than financial promises. By accumulating physical gold while reducing dependence on dollar-based reserves, China is building resilience against geopolitical and financial shocks. This doesn't necessarily mean gold will replace the dollar, but it does suggest that China sees physical bullion as a strategic asset in a more multipolar global financial system.
