Mmmmm feeling immense gratitude after this weekend’s Reiki + Drone VIII! 🙏🏽🙂‍↕️🫶🏽🕸️

We filled the room as friends, co-creators, lovers, dreamers, believers in a slow, caring & kind world. Offering Reiki felt like receiving, because Reiki is the energy of love, and love knows no “you” or “me.”

Sunday felt surreal to me. I’m proud of what WE have created & am amazed at how self-generative this event seems at this point. 8️⃣ times is no small potatoes!

Thank you to my amazing team…
✨ musicians: @david.bernabo & @guaguanco127 of @how_things_are_made — your soundscape was a true gift to receive.
✨ Reiki practitioners: @likhaoasis @blackramhealing & Belen, all level 2 attuned by @firstlightreiki — you make me a proud teacher!
✨ @nathandarity & @voodlevus of @navushouse — you & your home hold soo many healing experiences.
✨ all of our guests, both familiar with & new to Reiki — your trust is invaluable.

Keep an eye out for our next event — we hope you’ll enjoy it with us.

❤️‍🔥 THANK YOU! ❤️‍🔥

Behind the scenes of making the score for the feature length documentary YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME.

Notes of gratitude: I thank David Bernabo, for generously letting PJ Roduta and I set up for hours on many weekends throughout the winter in his cozy studio, and for the the ease in which he shared his instruments and talents and rendered his recordings and mixes to me SO proficiently! I felt very supported and genuinely enjoyed every session, finding the sounds together. I feel incredibly lucky that my life partner, PJ Roduta, is also my dream collaborator. I can suggest anything and he will find a way to understand me and make it work, including drumming on a paper drum-kit like it’s always been a thing. Special shoutout to Erik Lawrence for a magical session of saxophones, bass flute and tea breaks.

Speaking for myself, working on this project, within such a particular season of my life, was among the hardest thing I’ve ever done, so I can only imagine how the crew that have been painstakingly tending it for years, and above all, the people whose lives are presented and shared in this film feel! I’m proud of myself for making it through all the hours alone at the home studio, sifting, editing, recording, layering and designing sounds for the frame to frame rhythm and energy of the film that is dauntingly, yet necessarily, in a constant state of becoming.

Deep investment in my friend’s growth, healing and thriving aside, Tommy Franklin has made something artful and riveting. The vision is always unconventional with him and it was so refreshing and inspiring to make music for every scene, because his tone and storytelling style is so unique. I am extremely grateful for Tommy trusting me and believing in me, for the opportunity to do something so overwhelmingly big, for the newly found collaborator of editor extraordinaire, Simone LeClaire, a person full of rigor, fortitude, heart and skill! I am also grateful to have handed the stems into the care of Brian Riordan for mastering and lastly with sound designer Eli Cohn.

The world premiere of YDKMN is Oct 3rd in Baltimore at New Next Film Fest. Show up and tell everyone! This film is urgent as ever.
