POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There were big changes occurring in the production process and big interference on shoots. The amount of people on shoots from client and agency side had grown so much so that I could not shoot in my own studio due to the required catering and desk space needed to accommodate the masses. When stood at the camera I used to turn round to discuss with the sole art director, now as I turned there were anything from 10-20 people all looking at a screen giving their opinions, usually about the colour of a tie or socks. The process for stills had become the same experience I had when doing TV commercials, it starts with all the good intention and then slowly all the pieces are pulled off as the production progresses ending up with an unmemorable piece of work.
Paid Content was written about in many articles, it was seen as timely, vicious, a wry look at advertising, heart breaking, ridiculous, depressing, empathetic.
For me it was up to people to make their own mind up but from my previous experience I knew it didn’t have to be like this.

Slide 1 A scene I observed many times, trying to find the perfect product, client holding the guidelines.
Slide 2 The view that a model would see, all the people giving their views of how it should be done.
Slide 3 Do they fit, do they look good, like a scene from a play. Big decisions to be made!
Slide 4 The screen viewers discussing all aspects of the shot, now there was no room for improvisation. Can we photoshop it out?

What a beautiful catch up with long term friends.
It is said that close friends are those that you can continue as normal even when seen years apart.

Happy Birthday @davidaldridge_
