We are so excited to finally share not only the redesign of our site, but to introduce you to a completely new era. For the first time ever, DMB has released our 15 year archive to the public in conjunction with the launch of our special projects arm @dmboriginals 💥

In addition to representing the most innovative artists in the industry, we know what’s truly needed now is discernment, curation, and genuine elevation. So we’re re-introducing ourselves as something we’ve been all along: an author of culture, a fountain of legacy, and an inimitable creative partner to lead on what’s next, all while looking through the lens of photo history. Because who better to know where we’re going than those who were instrumental in constructing where we’ve been?

Stay tuned as we take you through a peek of the archive throughout the week, and keep an eye out for some exclusive new legacy projects launching soon. Or just jump to the site and take a self-guided tour.

A huge thank you to @commonwealthprojects - we could not imagine better partners 🚀🚀🚀

In 2024 Martin photographed @georgemazonakis at his home during a trip to Athens, as part of a forthcoming project with @DMB_represents. We’re deeply saddened to hear of the unexpected death of Giorgos on 09 September.

After making portraits together in the day, Martin joined Giorgos that evening backstage ahead of a bouzoukia, where Martin had a great time photographing Giorgos’s performance until 4am, capturing his relationship with the crowd and the traditional trays of flowers thrown onto the stage in appreciation.

Here is a look at a selection of photographs from that day 🧡

CONTINUED INSPIRATION — The late, and legendary, photographer Martin Parr, who talked with me for issue 31 of @dapperdanmagazine, is currently on show at the Jeu de Paume in Paris.

The exhibition is a retrospective of over 50 years of Parr’s oeuvre, through which he observes the quirks and absurdities of everyday life and everyday people, in all their excess, with his signature wit. And this dry humour came through in his answers to my questions when I interviewed him and Bruce Gilden together last year — a real honour.

It has been a while since our last post. The Photography Movement would not be here without the incredible photographers who supported our first exhibition on male masculinity back in 2017. We had some incredible contributions including @martinparrstudio whose photo attached helped us to raise over 20k for suicide preventive charity @thecalmzone Martin Parr has been a part of all our lives and captured some of the most iconic images of British culture in the 20th century and will still be influencing photographers for centuries to come. We thank you Martin for your many contributions that defined photography in your own unique way. And a big thank you to @davidbirkitt and all the other photographers for helping @the_photography_movement with its mission to get people to express their feelings through photography. @carriescottcurates @sfwallington @scottshillum

It is a massive and near-impossible undertaking to express in a single post what Martin meant to us and to the world. He was a visionary, a renegade, and an absolute creative force. But more importantly he was a husband, a father, a mentor, and our friend. We should all consider ourselves so lucky to be able to revisit life through his eyes whenever we pick up one of his books or see one of his photographs, and we are so proud of the work we’ve made with him over the past 25 years. DMB will continue to do all we can to uphold his immense legacy. We miss him greatly.

For this fashion shoot in the latest @dapperdanmagazine, photographers Martin Parr and Bruce Gilden shot the same model, in the same setting, at the same time, each creating distinct images in their recognisable signature styles.

Kim Laidlaw spoke to them about the experience—read the whole article and discover all the photos in Dapper Dan issue 31 out now!

KIM LAIDLAW: What’s your favourite part of a fashion shoot?
MARTIN PARR: Finishing just before lunch.
BRUCE GILDEN: The food!

Martin Parr and Bruce Gilden spoke to Kim Laidlaw—in the same candid tone we see in their photos—on the occasion of this feature for Dapper Dan. Each photographer photographed the same subject in the same place at the same time. Their images are displayed side by side, juxtaposing their distinct perspectives.

Legendary photographers Martin Parr and Bruce Gilden have known each other for decades but they have never truly worked together.

... well, until now, that is.

For the latest issue of @dapperdanmagazine, they created a fashion shoot in which they shot the same subject, in the same place, at the same time—each in their own inimitable style, of course.

And Kim Laidlaw interviewed them about the whole experience for the occasion.

Discover the shoot + article in their entirety in Dapper Dan Issue 31, out now!
