There’s no greater blessing than doing work that pours back into our community. 💐

When I first attended as a college student spending my last semester in LA, @culturecon showed me what was possible, introducing me to industry leaders and spaces I didn’t even know existed. I never imagined that years later, I’d get to be part of that world from the other side, helping shape the experience I once showed up to as an attendee.

Thank you @imaniimani for continuing to build something so beautiful and necessary, just as it was when you created it 9 years ago. ♥️

For my second CultureCon on the team, I had the privilege of producing content for leaders moving our culture forward, leading community engagement, amplifying the BTS creatives and community partners who deserve their flowers, managing our Correspondent program, and so much more.

Thank you to my manager and our Creative Editorial Director, @alyssaheartbreak, for always making space to teach, guide, and challenge me while trusting me with the opportunity to lead. And my community fellow @maizlawson, thank you for being in the trenches with me this weekend, always ready to jump in and make things happen.

2 days. A team of 12. One goal: capture the magic of @culturecon 🥹🍾

Getting to step into the role of Director of Photo + Video for CultureCon was such an incredible experience, and I’m leaving this weekend feeling so full + grateful.

A huge thank you to @imaniimani for believing in me, trusting my creative eye, and giving me the opportunity to step into this role. That trust means more than you know.

And to my husband @justinkeys_ , my operations lead, my right hand, and truly the person who helped keep me together all weekend. Thank you for being by my side through every early morning, last-minute change, problem to solve, and long day. I genuinely don’t know how I would’ve made it through this weekend without you.

And to my incredible photo + video team, THANK YOU. None of what you saw this weekend would have been possible without every single person working alongside me, moving with intention, adapting in real time, and helping us bring the vision to life. I’m so honored to have led such a talented team.

A special shoutout to @alyssaheartbreak and the social team. It is always such a pleasure working alongside you and finding ways for our teams to move together to get the content out and into the world.

I hope you all enjoyed the content that came out of CultureCon this weekend. So much intention, teamwork, creativity, and love went into capturing these moments.

We love seeing NYC through the eyes of the creatives who call it home.

We invited @davidfamous, a Brooklyn-based artist, to step inside Cherry Lane Theatre and experience 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦. Here’s what he had to say:

“I went to see 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 at Cherry Lane Theatre, and it had everything! Poetry, romance, heartbreak, philosophy, grief, time travel, humor and seriousness. A story of friends, lovers, and soulmates told across 16 years.

I left inspired to learn more about performance, storytelling and the fine arts, and what better place to do that than the iconic Cherry Lane Theatre?

Some of the best storytelling allows you to see yourself in it, and that’s exactly what happened to me.

I saw a little bit of myself in Dre, and the story had me thinking about the ways the people and experiences in our lives shift us, shape us, and change us.

After experiencing such a great play, naturally I had to come back to the stage with all my newfound experience and try my hand at delivering a compelling performance of my own.”
