LAYERED MEMORIES
A figurative exhibition of what we carry.

Opening October 10th at VEFA Gallery, Layered Memories brings together a powerful group of contemporary artists exploring one of humanity’s oldest and most enduring subjects: the human body. Rooted in rich traditional techniques, these works push figurative art forward through contemporary aesthetics, materials, gesture, and execution. The result is a fresh, layered examination of identity, memory, form, and the stories we carry within us.

Curated by Jonathan Anderson, this is VEFA Gallery’s next major exhibition, and the opening night will be one to remember.

During the reception, David Gilmore and Paul Roustan will perform live body-painting demonstrations on models, transforming the human figure itself into a living canvas throughout the evening.

Featuring @isaacpelayo , @dofreart , @julie.malina , @roustan , @debbiekorbel , @danielsartwork , @rei_art , @davidgilmore , & @ink.by.james

Today we saw the world’s largest @dollyparton mural located in Costa Mesa, California.

Painted on the exterior wall of the former Strut Bar & Club on West 19th Street in Costa Mesa.

Commissioned in 2021 by @lukenero to give us all hope, it now serves as a beautiful reminder of her legacy.

I was wrong in the video . It’s much bigger than I thought. It measures 19 feet high by 52 feet wide.

Created by artist @davidgilmore

Depicts Dolly as the radiant icon/saint she is with flowing blonde hair and doves.

It’s the most breathtaking shrine in a strip mall across the street from a smart and final.

Definitely worth the visit. It will make you cry.

A true monument of love from the LGBTQ community.

The song says "when I get where I'm going, don't cry for me down here", but I am failing at that.
