Here's me with my hero Leonard Cohen at the Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame gala some years ago, back when I used to get invites to these sort of things. Special shout out and an immense THANK YOU to photographer @davidleyes2 for taking and sharing the photograph 🩵

𝐀 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐡!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made my book signing at @indigoguelph at the Stone Road Mall such a wonderful success last Saturday!

We had a steady stream of readers and sold far more books than usual!

📚Thank you to the amazing management team at Indigo: Xander Rashid for your exceptional store coordination and ongoing dedication to authors, and new Operations Manager Rihannan Phillips—thank you for your immense enthusiasm for my recent international book awards and for providing such a wonderfully large display table!

🏆 This comes at an exciting moment for The Calinore Chronicles. Ahead of our official #NYCBigBookAward media launch next Monday, September 21st, the series has completed a sweeping international run:

🏆 @nextgenindiebookawards — Winner: Best Book Cover Design (Book 1) & Finalist (Book 2)

🏆 #NYCBigBookAward — 2026 Distinguished Favourites for Books 1 & 2

🏆 @readersfavoritecom — Bronze Medalist: YA Fiction (Coming of Age)

🏆 @storytradeawards — Finalist Medalist: YA Fantasy/Sci-Fi

🏆 @thewishingshelfawards — Finalist Medalist: Teenage Fiction

🏆 @chantireviews — Short List Selection: global OZMA Fantasy Fiction The 2026 Ozma Short List | Chanticleer

I was completely overwhelmed by the love from my community, friends, and family who supported me: my brother Dave and nephews Leo and Henry, my talented friend Danney Hamilton & family, Paul Boyd, Dixie Cochrane, neighbours Ruth & Ron, sister-in-law Karen Jashewski, my brother Dave and nephews Leo and Henry. To my husband Eric, thank you for being my rock!

❤️An extra-special thank you to my friend Mary Connor Brooks, who was an absolute superstar taking photos, managing the table, and bringing a lovely cheesecake for our post-event celebration! 🍰🥂

If you couldn't make it, signed stock copies of The Quest for Calinore (Book 1) and The Return of the White Witch (Book 2) are available on shelves at Indigo Guelph right now!

… look what was on my screen door…. This delicate little insect is a plume moth (family Pterophoridae). Plume moths are notoriously difficult to identify, as many species look remarkably similar. I believe this one is a Morning-glory Plume Moth (Emmelina monodactyla)… #getoutside #nikonz9 #NikonPC-EMicroNIKKOR85mmf/2.8D #davidleyes
