Brought the cheer game energy this past Saturday at the Under Armour 10K, and let me tell you , this is what community is all about.
Even though I wasn’t racing, I will alwahys show up to cheer because that’s who I am. Community isn’t just about miles logged , it’s about hearts connected. It’s about being there for the people who show up for you, and for this incredible running family I’m so grateful to be part of always.

I made the early trip down with my fam @little3women so we can cheer with our @kardiaathletica, @chixrunthe6ix, @blackrunnersofthrgta, @runtobeer Run cheer station. We made sure every runner felt that love from start to finish. Cowbells, high-fives, loud cheers, hugs we threw down that energy at the 9k mark because cheering isn’t just noise. It’s love in motion. It’s about making sure no one feels alone out there. You never know what someone’s battling on that course, chasing a PB, conquering their first 10K, pushing through pain, or fighting doubt. A simple “you’ve got this or I see you” or a smile can be the spark someone needs to believe in themselves again. Cheering isn’t a side note to running , it’s the heartbeat of this community.

It was so great seeing and cheering on these precious gems right here @analau_77 , @janifiquee, @a_sunsetchaser, @bitesandstrides @janinedesroches, @running.to_ @eni_busari @coach_kyle_sharp, @chrissieob @mirunag @klubvs ,@lifestylewith_rajeeth, @bridget_bri.sustainable ,@byallisonhill, @sexyrexy242, @coach.p.k, @heymarcussmith @dagloflow and so many others. Seeing so many friends, loved ones, and new faces chasing their goals, crossing that line, or pacing/ supporting others filled my heart in ways I can’t even explain. These are the moments that matter. These are the memories that build legacies.

This race reminded me exactly why this running community means so much to me. The energy you put out matters, and when you lead with love and encouragement, it comes back in beautiful ways.

Here’s to more race day memories, loud cheers, and love spread along the course this season and beyond. Because community isn’t a moment , it’s a movement. 🥰🔔📢 #UA10K #communityfirst #cheerenergy #runcrs

I am one of those guys who says, "I'll never do that!", and then ultimately ends up doing the thing I swore I'd never do. In 2014, I swore I could never be a runner for x, y, or z reasons. I'd much rather play sports like football, rugby, basketball, and track and field. Now I'm training for my second (and third) triathlons this year.

It was in 2017, I decided to start running again as I hit 30 and wanted to be "healthy" in my "old age". My first run coaching session was in the dead of Winter 2018, where it snowed all night long, but the running group kept me going (even if it was two Brits, a Canadian, and an Aussie at the back of the pack, all complaining about the weather). What an introduction to running and coaching that was!

As I progressed, this "never" mindset became "I'll never do a sub-30 5k" (Parkrun 2018), or, "I'll never complete a race without stopping" (Sep 2019), "I'll never run more than an hour, so count me out of a half-marathon" (Oct 2019). Runners are dangerous and can convince you that you can do anything if you spend enough time with them. If you happen to see me on the course, I may convince you to take up some mini-challenges during the race.

I soon discovered that me running was not just for my physical health, but most importantly, my mental health. Running allowed me to escape (briefly), slow down on my long runs, process thoughts, and really help my mental well-being through all of life's ups and downs. I can honestly say that running has on more than one occasion saved my life, and keeps me going. Now this Mancunian-born 🐝, adotoped Torontonian 🍁 is here still, and about to tackle the Mississauga 10k for the first time in five years.

Thankfully, my running journey has introduced me to such a supportive community, taken me across Canada, into the US, back to the UK, opportunities to partner up with great brands such as the Alzheimer's Society, Team Unbreakable, Brooks' RunHappy Team, Outrun the Dark, Nuun Hydration, and now as a Race Ambassador with the Beneva Mississauga Marathon.

I will see you all out there!

Thank you @Davidrunsworld for sharing your incredible journey with us! Can't wait to see you April 28th!
