Congratulations @pearlaustin_art from @umoonaartcentre @apy_ac_collective ๐Ÿ™Œ who's beautiful painting 'The Memory of Water II' has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 @gosfordgallery Art Prize.

In this work, Austin reflects on the resilience of Mabel Creek, her grandmother's homelands, which were impacted by the construction of Lonesome Dam. Despite this significant intervention, the creek endures. For the artist and her family, returning to Mabel Creek is an act of reconnection and renewal; a place where cultural knowledge, memory, and belonging continue to be strengthened following generations of separation from Country as a result of the Stolen Generations.

This work was the first of Pearl's Mabel Creek series, produced during her 2 week April residency here in Paddington, on Gadigal Country @8wallgallery ๐Ÿ’œ

FINND & Deep Web proudly presentโ€ฆ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž @c0ll3 , the moniker of New York based musician ๐Œ๐š๐ฒ๐š ๐Œ๐œ๐†๐ซ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ, for an intimate evening at The Vanguard.

Colleโ€™s music gracefully tiptoes through every kind of misty, hazy subgenre of contemporary pop music: trip, dream, ambient, hypnagogic, and even several types of -tronicas. Carried by her airy vocal delivery, delicate guitar work and ethereal production, Colleโ€™s 2024 album โ€˜๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ฏ๐จโ€™, released on London imprint @urtruimage , delivers the sort of blissed out feelings weโ€™ve only encountered on the edge of a beautiful slumber.ย

Coinciding with the debut Australian tour of Chanel Beads, Colle will be bringing her luminous solo work as well to Australian audiences for the very first time, joined by an exceptional local lineup of sonic daydreamers:

ok wow had to take a beat after our Pheonix show to bask in that sweet afterglow. What a treat to play into such a grand space, so fancy!. To try something different, a bit of story, song, a little bit improvised, a little bit theatric(for us) and everything between composed locked-in-focus to child-like silliness & smirking joy(vital). Iโ€™ve been thinking about how important it is to let musicians/artists slip outside of formulas and genre expectations, to tune in and meet them where theyโ€™re at with curiosity, both for their growth and oneโ€™s own; in most music writing, bands are in part defined by what other groups the members have been in and what other bands they sound like, I think in someways itโ€™s an obsession with nostalgia. I understand why but most times I find this lazy and boring and limiting; in the refusal to play part, to be chameleon feels like you bring along those who are paying attention, along for the ever bending ride as well as staying true to what feels right in relationship to your own creativity, your spark; I think this is paramount. Bla bla bla all this is to say im grateful for spaces like Phoenix that are wholly curated by curiosity over dogma, and to all those that listen keenly and diversely!

this show meant so much to us and was made even better by sweet talented virgo kin David (@davidsuyasa ) and Felix ( @beef.ledger ), all practices leading up to, were beaming w trust n love n the generosity required to try something new !

Big love to those who got up to play with us during the last song! It had been a dream to invite you to play with us in that space and Iโ€™m so glad you did!!

Biggest thanks to the whole Phoenix team ( @phoenixcentralpark ), all beautiful passionate people & to Jack Moran( @jackmoran_76 )for the epic photos.

Everyone who was in that room was meant to be in that room; perfect send off to a massive year for
the toll.
