In events, we spend so much of the year taking care of other people’s experiences. But you can’t keep giving your best if you never take the time to properly rest and recharge. That’s why we closed the BPL Events office for two weeks this summer and gave everyone the chance to fully step away at the same time. Our team headed in different directions, from Austria and Germany to Colombia and closer to home in Ottawa, Quebec City and a few other places in between. There was time with family and friends, new places to explore, and space to simply slow down. And now, we’re back! But first, here’s a little look at what the BPL team got up to while we were away!

Wowwww @canspep 2026 is in the books and it was incredible. A huge thanks to @opect169 and @ndsyyc for the invite, to the entire organizing committee for putting this together, and to @hotelsk for the warm hospitality. I've had the honour of getting to see inside the events world for over a decade now thanks to @beyondthebeo and I am continually amazed at the work that you do each and every day. Thank you to everyone that came out, laughed a little, and applauded politely at my shtick. Looking for an emcee for your next event? I know a guy, let's talk

That’s a wrap on the NYU-RICS Americas Conference 2026 in New York. This year, we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside @ricssurveyors on a number of initiatives, including the Toronto panel, The Responsible Use of AI in the Built Environment, and the @nyustern-RICS Americas Conference. We really value being part of conversations that bring professionals together to share ideas, challenge perspectives, and strengthen connections across the industry. Thank you to the RICS team, speakers, partners, and attendees who contributed to these events. We look forward to seeing the momentum continue. #events #rics #eventplanning

We’re still thinking about last week’s AMA Marketing Hall of Legends Gala! It was great to work alongside the @ama_toronto team to bring this event to life. From the beginning, the goal was to celebrate the AMA community and create opportunities for connection. Between celebrating marketing legends and bringing people together it was a memorable night all around. It was also extra special for us, as @dawncbecker previously served on the AMA board and as Vice President of Events. A big thank you to everyone who attended, our amazing volunteers, photographers, and Waterworks for hosting us. Last week, we were behind the scenes recording a new video series called “Off the Clock.” Conversations that are less polished and more human. Some about work. Some about the book. What happens in between. As Dawn shared, “I’ve worked with production teams to create content for clients. Shaped the overall experience. Managed the moving parts. But sitting in the chair myself? Totally different story!” Even after 25 years in the industry, growth still means stretching past our comfort zones. At BPL, we’re all constantly learning. Sometimes that looks strategic. Sometimes it just looks like being willing to press record. More to come from “Off the Clock.” Thank you to @gabyv.roman for championing this work and taking it to the next level.

At BPL Events, relationships come first. They’re the foundation of strong teamwork. When we’re connected, we collaborate better, support one another, and create the kind of experiences that make events unforgettable. With the busy conference season around the corner, our team took an end of summer break at @fallenfeather217 to snap new photos, share some laughs, and enjoy incredible food and drinks together. We’re excited to carry that same energy and spirit of collaboration into every event we produce this season. If you’re planning something special, reach out to us at BPL Events. We’d love to help you make it memorable. #bplevents #events

Dawn, President of BPL Events, is in the process of writing a new book about relationship-based events for planners, suppliers, and the next generation. The goal of which is to create high-quality, authentic connections, deliver profitable (repeat) events, elevate engagement, and enrich industry culture. She is looking for 10-20 people - who are connectors and/or leaders in a member association, non-profit, or other organization that regularly hosts events - to do a quick 20 minute market research call (by phone/Teams) to make the book stellar. Comment below or DM us if that's you!

Happy holidays! As we wrap up a successful year of events, the BPL Events team came together to celebrate with a delightful afternoon high tea at the iconic Windsor Arms Hotel. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible event team and our industry partners who joined us and made this year’s portfolio of events possible: @untangled_digital @avcanada @lamdannoam @arthurmola We couldn’t have done it without your dedication and support. Here’s to more successful collaborations in the future! Wishing everyone a happy holiday season and looking forward to another amazing year ahead! -- Known for offering the classic afternoon tea experience since the 1920s, the @windsorarms is a staple in Toronto’s high tea scene. While high tea is a long-standing tradition, it’s exciting to see how it’s making a comeback, with many new venues in the city offering their own takes on this elegant experience. #eventplannerlife #torontoevents #eventpartnerships #eventprofs #hightea

We’re looking forward to continuing our work with @onpha to plan and produce next year's annual conference and trade show! Last week, our team got together with them for a site visit at the @sheratoncentretoronto to review the contracted function space and to share the preliminary 2025 program schedule we developed. Starting earlier in the production process means we can collaborate more deeply and bring even more creative and exciting ideas to the table—we can’t wait to see it all come together! If you’re planning an event and looking for an experienced partner, consider BPL Events—we’d love to help bring your vision to life! Stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for an amazing 2025 and what is trending to be another sold out ONPHA conference. #ONPHA2025 #EventPlanning #ConferenceAndTradeShow #ConferencePlanning #TorontoEvents #EventProfs #AssociationEvents #TorontoPlanners #EventStrategy
