Inspired by my love for #nature to create (mostly) shady, pollinator friendly and native gardens. And a curious explorer of both WNC and otherwise.

Scotland! Along with two friends. I traveled throughout this beautiful, barren, friendly, historic, complex and welcoming country over the last few weeks. Carrying only backpacks, we traveled via plane, train, car and ferry to several places to including the Isle of Islay…seeing Ireland off in the distance.

Cullen Skink soup, salmon (lots of), fish and chips, haggis bon bons, monkfish, porridge and a Full Breakfast were enjoyed. And four distilleries where tastings resulting with an appreciation for “peaty” whisky.

I took many photos…these are photos from Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and Inverness only….

My latest backyard project. This is what layers of (Amazon) boxes, three (large) loads of soil/compost and a (bizillion) bags of pine mulch looks like. Plus a few native plants. Imagine next year after many more ferns, hostas, pollinators and flowering shrubs are planted!

I feel so fortunate to live where I do…(#westernnorthcarolina) four seasons and soil in which plants seem to thrive!

“Distant Horizons II” is available with @woolworth_walk in Asheville, NC.

For the longest time, I have been drawn towards landscapes and views of far away horizons, plateaus, views, etc. The views bring about a sense of both opportunity and a sense of aloneness. For me; this of course possibly different for others…

Available. Please DM with any questions. Dimensions: 24 x 24 x 1.5

One of my latest paintings available with @woolworth_walk…”Ocean Sunset”. I love the combination of blues and oranges…and images of the ocean…which conjures up many happy memories.

Hope it does for you too…

The #mountains continue to inspire me…

Two of my latest paintings! Whoever said painting mountains was easy had to be kidding! Please tell me you see distant mountains in these two paintings…

Life is all about learning new skills isn’t it? And I’m enjoying this process.

Fortunately, if you see mountains (or can see these paintings being added to your #gallerywall), both are available with the @woolworth_walk in #asheville!

Backstory….I intended on this painting to depict the mountains of Western North Carolina where I live. However, this was not to be the result for this painting and instead depicts ocean waves instead! Sometimes you just gotta trust the process…

“Ocean Waves I” measures 12 x 12 x 1.5. As of 7/2/23, she’ll be available at the @woolworth_walk in #Asheville.

(Bonus: I also painted two similar paintings; both also will be available at @woolworth_walk and each measures 6 x 6 x 1.5)

“Emerald Landscape” was painted during a phase when I was dreaming of traveling to Ireland. Actually…I’m still in that phase. And I still love deep greens…

This painting is also available at the @woolworth_walk in Asheville, NC.
